Girl Meets I Didn't Do It!

Where'd she go?

Maya's POV

I just received a message that made my life worthless... She's dead. My mother is dead. But it was not an accident, I know what has happened. He did it, the reason I hate home, the reason I have no family, the reason I cut.

David. That's him, the 'boyfriend' of my mother who ended up landing her in hospital another couple of nights back. Now she had died because of him. My mother did care for me, as best she could, but now she's gone and I have nothing. I glance at my arm, knowing if I don't get home to find my blade... I will explode. I just hope he's not home, what if he beats me harder than last night? What if he lands me in hospital too?...

I just drop my book and run. To the place I hate to call home.

Riley's POV

After a day of school (for once one that I hated.). Me, Lucas and Farkle went to search around the city, all of Maya's favourite places, we checked, the park, the roller rink, the cafe and the diner. All there was left to check was her apartment. I checked my phone, 4:25. Oh no! I forgot we are meant to be meeting the others at school!

"Farkle, Lucas, we need to go back to school."

Farkle looked at me as if I have two heads, " Why? Maya won't be at school... Would she?"

" No I highly doubt she would." I sighed, "But we are meant to meet the others there now."

Lucas' eyes widened. "Oh my! We forgot, well maybe then we can all go and see if we can find Maya." He smiled at me. "Together."

Oh my stars! Lucas just so adorable! How can Maya not see anything in him? Not that I'm complaining. He's mine!

We then headed off to school and met up with the others.

"Hey guys how are you?" Garrett asked kindly once we arrived.

"Actually I'm not that good, Maya left at break and no one knows why, or where she is. We were just out looking for her." I explained.

" I'm sure we can help, and by me I mean the girls, me and Garrett don't have much look in finding girls." Logan said while winking at a girl walking past.

I just giggled, these guys are great friends!

Lindy gave Logan a look as if to say shut up. She then turned to me.

" Has she ever ran off before?" She asked

"Well actually yes." I saw a flash of sadness fall into everyone's eyes. Oh yeah I didn't tell Lucas or Farkle because they were at their relatives... But that day, I found Maya in the Diner crying her eyes out. Maya never crys, part of why I never told anyone. "When her pet died, her ferret, Ginger, she got a text and left school but I found her in the diner looking... Distressed." Maya would never forgive me if I told them that she had cried...

"Oh.." Was all Farkle could say, that's very strange, he can normally talk for years.

"Where should we look, but not anywhere too dirty, I just came from the spa." Jasmine asked.

Delia glared at Jasmine.

"Well, I think we best check her apartment, on the other side of town" I announced.

Everyone nodded and followed me the way to the subway.
