Lindy's POV

Me, Logan, Jasmine, Delia and Garrett were just heading out of Demolition. Me and Jasmine thought it would be a good idea to buy Maya some clothes and accessories as we weren't too sure what to buy her.

As We were walking towards the subway to return to the basement we ran into Lucas and Farkle. They were just heading out of a small family restaurant and towards the subway.

"Hey Dudes!" My older brother Logan called out to them as we sped up our pace to meet up with them.

"Oh... Hey guys, we were just heading home. We saw Maya in hospital earlier, she was in pretty bad shape." Farkle spoke looking at his shoes. The poor guy blames himself for not noticing her change in behaviour...

I felt sorry for him. "Well , if you would like to, our parents our out of town if you want to hang out with us for a bit. To help us all take our minds off things." I suggested.
Lucas smiled,"Sure M'am we would be happy to hang out." He replied with his Texas accent.

"Well then let's go." Jasmine calls as she starts to head towards the subway....

Farkle's POV

We entered the twins basement and we just sat in silence, it was as if we were all waiting for each other to break it.

It must have been a good five minutes until Garrett finally spoke up...

"So... What are we going do?" Garrett asked nervously.

"We could play a game?" Logan suggested into the returning silence.

"How about we get to know each other? We could ask each other questions such as our lucky numbers?" Lindy suggested.

Well..I did want to become friends with these guys and learn a bit about them so.... "Yeah. We could do that right Lucas?" I nudged Lucas who seemed to be lost in thought.

"Huh? Oh right yeah.. If you guys want to?" He replied somewhat unsure of what was going on. I dont blame him though, I think we were all out-of-sorts right now.

"Sounds Great!" They all chorused back.

After a few rounds it was my turn.

"Right, lets see...Logan! What is your favourite hangout spot?"

"Well, we used to hang out at Rumble Juice which was a smoothie shop back were we used to live but now i would have to say this basement as it is really the only place we have hung out at so far, as we don't really know around New York and so..." Logan replied...

"Maybe we could give you a tour of New York soon, then you guys will have more places to hangout?" I suggested after seeing the glimpse of hope in his reply.

"That would be awesome! I can't wait to see all of the rats and pollution!" Delia charmed in sarcastically. I chuckled at her sentence.

"Delia!" Jasmine scolded.

"No it's alright M'am, that is what I expected from this city too. I grew up in Texas and so New York is completely different from my home, but I soon learned to love this area of the city." Lucas came back.

Pah! If Maya was here she would so make fun of him for tha.... Oh. I forgot, Maya... It was almost as if Lucas was thinking the same thing as he released a disappointed sigh. I really didn't feel like playing anymore.

"Well, I think we better start heading home now, thanks for everything guys." I stated as I practically bolted to the door as I felt the guilt and tension caving in on me.

Lucas followed me to the door. "Thank you again for inviting us M'am." Lucas thanked the others and we bolted down the street towards the subway thankful to be out in the fresh air ...

Riley's POV

I felt something tighten around waist, I woke up with a start. There was an arm around my waist and a head on my shoulder.

It was Maya.

She was fast asleep but still I could see the pain on her face. I feel so sorry for her, I can't believe something like this could happen to someone, especially her. I feel so bad, she's like my sister, I always know when something is wrong but this one time... I knew but I didn't even do anything about it!

I felt Maya stir on my shoulder as her eyes flutter open.
I stare into her blue eyes and can easily see the sadness and pain inside of them which was masked with a fake layer of happiness.

"Good morning Maya." I whisper as I fear that any loud noise could easily break her into a million pieces.

"Hi." Was all she whispered back.

After a few comfortable minutes in silence I finally asked her the question which was on my mind...

"Maya, what happened? Are you ready to talk about it?" I ask her.

Silent tears roll down her cheeks, I immediately wipe them away, sorry I asked. She shakes her head and I pull her into a hug.

"Shhh, it's ok Maya, just know I'm here for you if you want to talk about it and I will not allow anything like this to happen to you again! I promise."

"Riley.. I..I don't w..want t..to go h..home." Maya pleaded as we broke the hug.

Was it was something at her house which caused this? I have no idea. However I do know I will find out and protect Maya. Even if it's the last thing I do. After releasing I was staring at her while lost in my thoughts, I shook them away.

"That's fine, not to worry, you can stay with me." I replied as she managed to muster a smile...
