Ok, call me unproffesional, because I am, but-
Yeah, so I switched to first person present tense halfway through just because I write better like that and enjoy it more. I initially tried out third person past tense since the books are written that way, but I didn't like it.Sorry for being so unproffesional, but enjoy the rest of the chapter!

"What-what do you mean?" Sophie stammered.
Keefe's icy storm of eyes were locked on her, narrowed in what she could only guess was distaste towards her. As if anything else was new.
"I know you're her. So, please, just stop trying to deny it," he pleaded in a whisper.
"I don't-"
"Please," he begged, in a way she'd never thought possible for a guy like Keefe Sencen. "I just want to know why you do what you do. Why you act criminally. I won't tell anyone, promise!" He had excitement in his voice, his expression showing sincerity.
But his eyes told a different story.
"Why do you even care?" she snapped, more harshly than she meant to.
He looked taken aback, but kept pushing. "I don't know - wouldn't you be curious if all of a sudden a mysterious girl that everyone is looking for was in the same room as you, and you had the chance to ask about it?"
"Not if it isn't my business," she scowled.
The mask she used to protect herself slid over her face, hiding the part that wanted to just tell someone who she was and lift the burden off her shoulders, and confide in someone, and be cared for by someone.
The part that would only get her hurt.
"Alright, I know I'm not the most reliable person, but-"
"But nothing!" she snarled. She knew she was walking on thin ice.
But she couldnt bring herself to care.
"Sorry you can't get whatever you want, whenever you want it," she went on, her voice getting continuously louder. "But welcome to the real world! Sometimes, you won't get what you want, and there's nothing you can do about it! So grow up, will you?!" At that point, she was yelling, and didn't even notice the teal-eyed girl in the doorway. Until she came and stood next to her friend.
"Hey, don't go yelling at my friend like that!" Biana exclaimed, glaring at Sophie.
"Maybe if he wasn't so nosy, I wouldn't have!" the brown-eyed girl spat back.
"Ugh, well, I came in to tell you guys that we're late. I was going to apologize, but I think I'll just pin it on you!" she growled. "What even happened, Keefe?" she asked, turning to the blonde-haired boy, who seemed to be in deep thought.
Before anyone could say anything else, he walked out, taking Biana with him, leaving Sophie standing there speechless.
He better not tell, she thought bitterly, then cleaned up and left.

Back in the detention room, everyone had already gone home, except for Keefe and Biana, who stood by Magnate Leto.
"Miss Foster," he called out as she entered the room. "I'm told that your group started arguing towards the end of your punishment. Is that true?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. She knew she would be hearing about this later from a certain Forkle.
