Her lips part slightly, suddenly wishing she hadn't left the room she had woken up in.In front of her sits Corvi, his curly black hair adorned with the flower crown the three girls had given him.
He holds his head high, but his eyes are cast down, looking at Alwin and Davina. His eyes seem to glow, the green in them swirling violently around his pupil.
Alwin clears his throat, drawing his Alpha's attention away from Davina.
"I bumped into her on the way here," he says, glancing at her from the corner of his eye.Corvi nods and turns his head, looking at Davina again.
"I'll leave you be," Alwin grins, disappearing in the crowd.
Panicked, she turns her head, her eyes scanning the clearing to try and find him again."Davina," Corvi says, drawing her attention back to him.
"I- Do you want any lemonade?" She stutters.A lazy grin pulls at his lips.
"I don't, but thank you."He pushes himself out of the chair onto his feet, elevating himself even more. Davina takes a step back, both her hands holding the glass tighter. He jumps off of the platform with ease and lands in front of her. She stumbles back a few more quick steps. Even though he is standing on the ground, Davina still has to tilt her head slightly to meet his eyes.
"We need to talk about something," he says.
"We really don't," she answers quickly, shaking her head.
He squints and nods once slowly, "let's take a walk."
"Corvi, there's no need, I swear," she sputters, taking another step away from him.
He, however, doesn't let it rest. He grabs her bicep, to her surprisingly gentle, and tugs her forward. They walk to the side of the clearing, where the light of the flickering candle can't illuminate the thick forest.
She starts to struggle, planting her feet into the ground.
"If you wanted to kill me, you should've done so when I was out cold."He releases her and she stumbles backwards, almost falling over.
"I'm not going to kill you," he sighs, looking at her almost impatiently.
She crosses her arms, glaring at him. The weak light casts dim specks of light in her eyes, matching them with the night sky."What happened to you before you passed out?"
A scowl appears on her face.
"Don't act so naive," she snaps. He doesn't seem bothered by her posture towards him, not even her disrespect.
"I am not being naive, I am curious."An empty laugh comes from her and fills the calm forest. The shattering of glass cuts through her calm endeavor. The lemonade seeps into the ground.
"Curious? You are curious, I can't believe it," she rambles, her hands balling into fists. Her lips are pulled up, a wide smile on her face, yet her teeth look as threatening as a hungry wolf. She takes swift steps forward, her eyes never leaving his.
"I was shifting," she growls, her face inches away from his.He glances at her feet and sees her standing on her toes, trying to match his height.
"I thought you were shiftless."
His eyebrows furrow together in confusion. Her lips pull back even more and her nose crunches up. The former specks of light now sink deep into the swarming ink of her irises.
"I am," she snaps, pushing him backwards with power fueled by fury.
