It's was a bright sunny summer day in the land of Sharon, the first in a long time but on this day it wasn't full of joy, happiness, or rejoicing as many thought it would be. For within the Northern regions capital of Harrow they mourned the loss of many of their strongest alchemist who left their homes and families to assist in the war effort alongside their allies in the western, southern, and eastern regions. Only known as the Great War, it had finally ended after lasting 3 long grueling years. The regions Head Elder is joined by a representative of the kingdoms where their alchemists had traveled to fight back the legions of demons, Lycanthropes, and wayward Hybrids. The head Elder and current Master alchemists of the North Master Kol, now addresses key figures from each land about a grave and distressing matter to not only the people he leads but all the regions. Standing a mere 5'5 he didn't seem much of a threat at first till he started to transmute. With a heavily saddened look on his face as he stared out his window, the room filled with those he had personally summoned. Lady Keria the second most powerful normal demon and current ruler of the southern, and western parts of the Western region. A Third generation Hybrid soon to be King Liam since the untimely death of his father in combat right before the final battle of the Great War. The war between humans, demons, and Lycanthropes has lasted a lot longer than what has been recorded and during that time the Lycans decided to experiment by adding demons blood with their own in hopes it will make them more effective killers. Prince Liam and his warriors are a testament to just how successful the experiments have been. And lastly Lord Montress, recently named the keeper of the Northern parts in the Western region due to his actions during the Great War and the Demon civil war which without a moment's rest joined everyone else in the Great War.
I know this is supposed to be a time of rejoicing and you all have been away from your respective lands for far too long but we still have a grim task placed before us all stated Master Kol to the other as he slowly turned to face them and guestired to everyone to be seated.
Yes Master Kol I agree and it's with a heavy heart that I have to report that my scouts still haven't found any leads or trace of Lady Sage or Lord Heart, it's most likely as we all feared they must have been lost to the explosion at the Knights of Hell fortress Prince Liam said as he sat down not breaking eye contact with Master Kol.
Lord Montress do you have any insight to what could have caused such a devastating explosion? Lady Keria asked as she finally glancing away from Master Kol her eyes holding back tears as she looked away from him.
With a heavy sigh as he looked at everyone the best he could. The only thing I can think of is two highly strong and vastly powerful demons not holding back when using hellfire magic or physical combat that is fueled by pure hatred, other than that I am unsure Elder Kol and I would send my warriors to investigate but it is far to dangerous even by a demons standard. So then what has the boy been told so far?
Lieutenant Xina has him away training right now and hasn't informed him yet said Lady Keria once again fighting to keep her composure. Just then Master Kol walked from behind his seat towards Lady Keria and gently rested his hand on her shoulder with a faint smile on his face as he spoke to her;
Lady Keria you were their dearest friend and ally during these dark times. Knowing they trusted you means I trust you with not only my life but with my kingdom as well.
Tears ran down her face like a stream being freed from a dam. She took a deep breath as she made eye contact with him again and with a stronger look on her face asked what everyone in the room was wondering. Master what shall happen with the child?
Master Kol simply smiled as he turned around looking over his shoulder stated; You and Lady Xina shall continue his training as his father wished but he shall remain here under our kingdoms care and protection.
Lord Montress shook his head in protest as he said; I will not allow him to remain in a place where your strongest alchemists is equal to a demon comminor he needs to be watched and ensured his power is kept in check by those with actual power and abilities to do so.
And it was at that moment Prince Liam stood in front of Montress sword drawn and placed against his throat and sneered back at him with hate in his voice. You may want to watch your tone Montress!You may have the title but I myself do not acknowledge you as a royal by any means! And let it be known that Lady Sage fought bravely during the war as did her companions on many occasions when others could not. They were even successful in taking down several high tier demons and Lycanthropes on their own while my and your forces were quickly struck down or pushed back.
As Prince Liam preceded to bash Lord Montress pride his eyes started to turn a deep red as he stared back at Liam with an intent to kill but before he could respond or retaliate Master Kol slams his fist in his desk emitting a blue like lighting from his fist which caught everyone's attention;
ENOUGH BOTH OF YOU! Yelled Master Kol. I will not tolerate any hostility in my kingdom no matter how noble the cause Prince Liam. The son of Lady Sage and Lord Heart will continue his training with Lady Keria and Lady Xina as per his father's wishes as well continue training with me learning how to properly use his abilities while remaining here under my kingdoms care and I expect there will be no further disagreements or outbursts? He repeated to them but with a more angry and harsh tone as both prince Liam and Montress nodded their heads in agreement. Lady Keria sat quietly in her seat and smirked at them both and said;
My, my, you both have so much to learn of the world, especially you Montress she said with a chuckle as he glared back at her. If you two expect to become efficient rulers of your lands doing your research on not only your enemies but your allies as well will get you far in our unnatural lives darlings she says as she stands and bows to Master Kol, my apologizes Master they are both young and rash but possess promise as rulers.
That they do my Lady Master Kol replies with a smile but quickly turns into a serious glare as he gestures to them both to be seated again. But we must stand together if this dream of a Grand council as well preparing young Corin is to succeed, we will have to depend on one another for I fear the fighting may not be over, for us let alone the child especially once the truth of his origins are revealed . But he will learn of his heritage when the time is right for now we lay our fallen warriors to rest and mourn their loss together and hopefully this peace lasts for some time. No truer words were ever spoken in the Hall of Elders in the Capital of Harrow but unfortunately as the years went on they all soon realized that Master Kol was right. The fight was not over it had yet to truly begin.
