Somebody Else- The 1975
"So I heard you found somebody else, and at first, I thought it was a lie. I took all my things that make sounds. The rest I can do without. I don't want your body, but I hate to think about you with somebody else. Our love has gone cold. You're intertwining your soul with somebody else."

Catching me off guard, she nearly shuts the door in my face, but I hold it open with my foot, my hand hovering over the door with no force as I don't want to scare the girl that's roommates with Dawn. That would not go well with her now, would it?
"What the fuck was that for?" I nearly yell.
"I know who you are. You are the guy that caused my roomie to become cynical about love. Cynical about life really." She says through the cracked door, "You are the guy that has caused her to cry for nearly every single day since I've met her. She just stopped two weeks ago, and yet I still fear she cries in the shower about you. Whatever the fuck you did, you ruined her." She pushes more force on to my foot, but I don't relent.
"Let me in." I muster.
"No." She says and pushes harder against my foot. I roll my eyes and decide to end this pain against me, as I push harshly against the door, causing her to fall back further into her dorm room. I rush inside, closing the door behind me, "Get out or I'll scream!" Her eyes wild and somewhat terrified.
"Easy, easy." I hold my hands out, "I just want to know where Dawn is."
"No can do, partner." She crosses her arms.
"Then it looks like I'm staying until she comes home." I copy her stature.
She sighs now, contemplating on what to do next. "I could scream. Make it a huge deal, and boom security comes."
"Look, Laura--"
"It's Lana, first of all. And if you aren't going to leave, I might as well tell you the truth." She sits down at her desk that's across the room, "She's on a date, buddy." Her voice is as condescending as my brothers.
Air sucks out of my lungs, and wave anger flows through me. "Didn't take her long, didn't it."
"Well, sorry sir. You've missed your chance for I don't know why."
I take a step back. Memories of myself and Dawn rummage my brain, but now an unknown man's face appears instead of mine, and I want to cease and leave this suffocating room, but instead I stay in place and stare at the wall behind this girl named Lana. It might have been five minutes or an hour. But it takes a snap of her fingers to pull me out of my thoughts. "Not the end of the world, glasses." She says, her voice growing concern at the last words. "There is plenty of fish in the sea. Go swim." She flails her arms around.
I still continue the perpetuating silence. And I feel as though Dawn is falling through my grasps. "Can't swim when you don't feel like living." I muttered silently to myself.
"You're emo too?" She tries to laugh it off, but the uncomfortable lack of my words causes her to clear her through and to jester for me to sit down. "Sit down for a second, will you? I'll get you some water."
I do as I'm told, but my eyes don't meet anything but the table where my fingertips graze the surface. I close my eyes now, trying to imagine Dawn doing the same thing this morning. She must have sat here for about 15 minutes with a mug between her hands as she contemplated on what she would wear today or if she was planning to wash her hair that morning. She was simple in those instances. So thoughtful, and yet reckless at the same time when it came to vast decisions.
