Jimin had been floating on a cloud throughout the day, his face ached from smiling and he flushed each time he thought back to what they had done in his shower the previous night. He wondered if Jungkook was ok and if his visit from his parents had gone well and he was desperate to send him a text but chose to resist as he didn't want to seem like a cling on after one encounter.
This was so new, so foreign to him, he never thought he was gay, he still didn't if he was honest with himself, but he'd fallen for a soul and a connection with another human being, not a gender, the fact that he was male didn't matter to him at all, he felt light, like he was in love for the first time in his 20 years of being on this earth. Jungkook had awakened something inside of him and although he wanted to shout it from the rooftop, he was well aware that prejudice was still as prevalent in 2019, even in a forward thinking city like Seoul and that they may have to keep their love a secret for the time being, just until they figured stuff out for themselves.
Shortly after Jungkook had left his apartment that morning Jimin busied himself with cleaning and assignments in order to try and take his mind off his 'boyfriend'... boyfriend, he mouthed the words to himself several times and each time his heart had skipped just a bit more. Tae called around unexpectedly around noon.
"Hey Jimin, I was worried about you man! you ran by me so upset yesterday and I tried to find you, are you ok?" Jimin grinned at his best friend, "Hey you!, come in and yes I'm good Tae, it was a misunderstanding, all over now". "There's something different about you, you're positively glowing" said Tae as he studied his friend closely.
Jimin couldn't help but stand there grinning and blushing at his friend, Tae studied his friend quizzically as a realisation dawned upon him "Oh my God Jimin, you totally did it! you popped your cherry didn't you!? who is she?" He was dancing about excitedly wanting to know all the details, pressing Jimin to tell all. Jimin had never lied to his best friend and knew he would burst if he didn't share this, he knew they had agreed to keep quiet but this was Tae, he was like a brother to him and he was sure Jungkook would confide in Namjoon.
"It wasn't a girl..." Jimin said cautiously as Tae's eyes widened, "I thought you said you weren't gay?" was Tae's response, "I'm not, at least I didn't think I was, but I've fallen for Jungkook and he feels the same, it felt so right Tae, I connected with him like no one before". "Jungkook! you're kidding!" Tae stood there with his mouth open obviously processing what his best friend had just told him.
Jimin felt uneasy, maybe his friend wasn't as open minded as he thought, but then Tae's eyes twinkled as he smiled "You dirty dog!" he laughed "You seduced that shy little boy and made him your bitch" Jimin laughed relieved, but wasn't sure if he saw a flash of something like hurt behind Tae's bravado, he chose to ignore it because he was happy and he wanted his friend to be happy for him. "Look, if he makes you happy and you're getting some loving then I'm happy for you" Tae said then hesitated for a moment "It's just, well where does it leave us?, I mean don't get the wrong idea, I like girls, but you're my Jiminie, it feels weird to think I'm going to have to share you".
For the first time Jimin saw his friend's insecurity, Tae had always been in control and had the upper hand in their friendship and felt threatened by another boy coming between them, "You've been like a brother to me Tae, my best friend and that will never change, nothing will change except you can stop asking me to go on all those God awful dates!" both boys laughed cutting through the tension in the air.
After that, the pair said their goodbyes and arranged to meet up before class on Monday. Jimin felt relieved that he had told his best friend, he felt a new sense of confidence as he always thought he was the one following Tae around and worrying if his best friend would tire of him, never thinking that he was just as important in their relationship, it felt good to be needed in that way. A text message broke his train of thought, it was from Jungkook, smiling he opened it
