The next Wednesday was as sweet as the last. That's what Stella looked forward to the most. Not the tests she aced or the projects she worked on with Tony. She had actually started getting more sleep too, and she had a good dream. A pleasant dream. When was the last time she had one of those? Stella couldn't even remember.
Her dreams were ruined one chilly September Wednesday. Vision and her had been together for over a month now. They walked back from a stroll on the grounds, and opened the door to find Tony waiting for them. He had been pacing along the front of the stairway and froze in his tracks when the door opened. He glared at them as they walked in. Captain America leaned on the banister beside Tony with his arms crossed. Stella squeezed Vision's hand tighter when she saw them.
"Conference room. Now," Tony commanded.
He stormed up the steps, and they followed him. Stella paused at the banister where Cap still stood.
"So much for our little secret, huh?" Stella spat.
Captain America didn't respond, didn't even make eye contact with her. She turned and made her way up the stairs. Tony glared at them when they came in. He sat in his usual chair. It was dead center when you entered, the first think you looked at. Of course it was Tony's chair. He rose when they entered. He was too angry to sit.
"I told you this was not going to happen," Tony growled.
"Well, it did," Stella said nonchalantly.
"This is going to end. Now," Tony commanded.
"Why, Tony? Why can't I be with him?"
"Among other things, he's too old for you."
"Technically, I'm only three years old," Vision corrected.
"Then he's too young for you!"
"Technically-"
"Enough! I get it. Based on physicality, he's three and you're one, but he looks like a grown man, and you look seventeen."
"He's red and I'm white. He's a robot and I'm a human. He's bald and I have blonde hair. What's it matter?"
"It matters when his wife goes crazy and rips a hole in the fabric of reality. It matters when he splits into five Ultrons and tries to kill his whole team, after crashing them into this very mansion might I add? You remember Ultron right? The big, bad robot whose supposed to kill us all. Unless you can save us. Vision is his son. He turned into him once-- five of him."
"All of that was Scarlet's doing. He couldn't help any of that. He can't help his heritage either. Besides, I'm not capable of all that."
"You are capable of turning into a raging dragon."
"What does that have to do with him? If I went crazy, he'd be the first to try and stop me."
"We don't know that, Stella. That's why I have to do this. J.A.R.V.I.S, prep Vision's station for reprogramming."
"No!" Stella screamed. She threw herself between Vision and Tony.
"I know you don't understand, Stella, but this has to be done."
"You may be able to take away his feelings, but you can't take away mine!"
Tony sighed, "I know. That's why I gave you a chance to stop all this, because I didn't want to have to hurt you, but you didn't listen."
"I love him!" Stella yelled.
"Vision, you are to report to your maintenance lab now."
Stella grabbed Vision's arm, "You are not rebooting him."
