Roughly after about an hour after they started singing, Ruby checks her watch for the time."Hey I hate to be that killjoy but lunch is in about six minutes, so we should get ready for that Ice Queen," She says standing up from her bed. She puts on her rugged and worn down tennis shoes and ties them.
"Well if it must really be like that, right now, I suppose we must," She says putting a nice pair of light blue converse. They both bolt out of the door to their cabin and start to walk to the mess hall.
"What if we're late and they don't let us in?" Ruby asks quite worried that they might be forced not to eat.
"Ruby, if they did that it would be complete bullshit and they would have to answer to their superiors or at the very most my father would maybe get involved if he actually cared about such a small issue," Weiss says very reassured in her reasoning. She looks over to the smaller girl and she seems reassured and calmed. This brings a tiny smile to the older girls face.
"So Ice Queen, what are you planning to do during free time for the rest of the day?" Ruby asks looking up to the other girl and takes notice of the smile on her face. This in turn causes her to smile just a little as well.
"Well I don't have anything planned, what are you doing?"
"Well I was gonna see if Yang and her friend she wanted me to meet are taking their free day today. And if they are then you can meet them both and I can meet her friend!" Ruby exclaims in a joyous tone.
"Sure that sounds good. I mean after all if I'm gonna room with you, I may as well meet the only family you have here,"
"I can't argue with that,"
"I know, that's why I said it," Weiss jokes. They both laugh as they walk into the mess hall. They stop laughing and the hunt for seats begin. They look and look. Until they find a table with four chairs. Two on each side they walk over and sit down on the same side of the table. A few moments later two girls sit across from them. The one who sits across from Weiss has short brown hair and has a few freckles scattered across her face. She is wearing a grey hoodie and jeans. The one who sits across from Ruby has blue hair and is wearing a white tank top with a black skull on it and black jeans. They are holding hands.
"Mind if we sit here?" the one with brown hair asks.
"I don't see the issue, Ruby?" Weiss asks turning to her roommate.
"They seem pretty cool, so why not," she says shrugging.
"Thanks," the one with brown hair says. The two girls take a seat across from them.
"Oh where are my manners, I am Weiss and the girl next to me is Ruby. And you girls are?"
"Hello I am Max," the girl with brown hair says.
"Sup I'm Chloe," the girl with blue hair says.
"Your hair is so dope!" Ruby exclaims looking at Chloe's hair.
"Thanks, your red streak is hella dope," she says smiling at the younger girl.
"So how has camp been treating you girls?" Weiss asks the girls sitting across from her.
"Good aside from all the fucking bigots who won't let Max and I be,"
"What do you mean?" Ruby asks looking confused at the blue hair girl.
"Well I'll tell you tell you but you better be hella cool about it, got it red?" Chloe asks.
"Oh god here we go," Max says softly.
Ruby nods her head vigorously.
"All right so you see Max and I are dating and a bunch of people are giving us shit for it,"
"Well that's that fucking dumb, people should be allowed to love who ever the fuck they want regardless of what other people might think," Ruby says getting upset at the people she doesn't even know who bulled her table mates.
"Wait did you just go mature on me Ruby?" Weiss asks looking at the younger girl.
"I suppose I just did Ice Queen,"
"hmph not bad," Max says.
"You may now send someone up from your table to get your food," a man on a loudspeaker says.
"Oh I'll get that hold on," Ruby says getting up and sprinting off into line.
Max and Chloe both turn to Weiss.
"So if you don't mind me asking do you like her?" Max asks.
"Yeah I do, but please don't tell her that, I want to do that myself," Weiss says
"Yeah no shit Sherlock, to come out is a hard thing and we are here for you," Chloe says.
"It's not that I'm not out, it's just she doesn't know and after that whole thing I'm probably going to tell her soon," Weiss says.
"That would be a good thing, and hey maybe she likes girls too and just happens to like you, It's how I got together with Chloe,"
"She would have to be a fool to like me, I treated her like shit when I first met her. Granted I've changed but still treated her like shit,"
"Well if you have changed then maybe she'll see as the nicer version of you," Max says.
"Maybe but I don't like to hold out to much hope, because when I get home regardless of who I like I'll be forced to marry some dumb suitor my father has chosen for me to be married to,"
"That's hella tough, so just run away,"
"If only I could. My house seems like it's more guarded than the goddamn Pentagon,"
"What is?" Ruby asks walking up with the tray of food for the table.
"Oh my house," Weiss says as Ruby hands out the food. They all let out a laugh then eat and enjoy each other's company for the rest of the meal.
