Taylor's Point of View:
Gerard, Steffany, and I all sat around the circular breakfast table shoving pancakes into our mouths and laughing, telling stories. Steffany actually laughed so hard at one of Gerard's stories that she choked on her pancake and I couldn't breathe from laughing at her. Our faces turned as red as Gee's hair.
"And so that's the story of how I accidentally got tazed." I concluded, causing Gerard to giggle. It was the cutest thing ever! However, I kept seeing him sneak glances at Steffany, as well as my sketchbook, which was lying on top of my bag. What had I missed last night? Damn being tired!
"You know, Pete is like an hour late." Gerard sighed, checking the clock on the microwave.
"Oh! I'm sorry if we are being rude." I apologized.
"No, I actually enjoy having you two here. Hands down, the coolest high schoolers I've ever met." he said, causing Steffany to almost choke on her orange juice for the second time.
"I graduated last year, actually." she explained, wiping a drop of syrup off her face. Gerard's face lit up for just a moment. It would have been impossible to catch if I hadn't been looking for his reaction.
"Well, you are still some of the coolest underage people I've ever met." he said, fixing his previous mistake.
"Actually, I'm 18." Steffany corrected again, Gerard tried to hide a smile, but failed.
"I seriously don't want to go ba-" I was interrupted by a knock on the door. We all looked at the security cameras and saw the very fabulous Pete Wentz standing there.
"Hey, look, it's Uncle Sexy." Steffany joked. Gerard grinned and answered the door, once again having to unlock all the layers of security. I swear, it was like being in a maximum security house.
"You're laaate!" Gerard sang, causing me to make some kind of inhumane noise as I fangirled at his voice. I think Steffany stopped breathing for a moment.
"You know I'm always late." Pete replied, making me giggle. He spotted me and his face lit up like a christmas tree and he instantly looked ten times happier. I smiled and ran into his arms, hugging him.
We stayed like that for a few minutes, as though he was trying to make up for fifteen years worth of hugs. He rested his face in the crook of my neck and then let me go, still looking elated. It was amazing to finally turn to my father, the one I hadn't had for 15 years, and just hug him whenever I wanted.
"You guys ready?" he asked, gesturing to Steffany, a glint of sadness crossed her eyes as she looked back at Gerard and nodded hesitantly. I nodded and went to put my sketchbook in my bag, but accidentally let go too soon and sent loose sheets of paper with tattoo designs on them everywhere.
My face turned red and I scattered to pick them up, but Pete and Gerard had beat me to it. They stood there, staring at my work and I glanced nervously at Steffany, who gave me a thumbs up. Thanks, Steffany, I thought to myself.
"Tay, you got some mad skills." Pete commented. Gerard nodded, not looking away from the paper in his hands.
"What's this?" Pete asked, gesturing to a very old, very bad design I had done a few years ago.
"Oh, that? That's um... well, that is the Celtic symbol meaning father and it's in a coffin because... well, I was angry, okay?" I confessed, shifting awkwardly from foot to foot.
"That's... that's kinda fucked up." Steffany piped up, not meaning to be offensive, but sounding apologetic.
"Yeah, well I'm fucked up!" I hissed, not even caring about my vulgar language. Everyone was silent. I held back tears and collected my papers, shoving them in my backpack, crumpling several of them carelessly.
