Chapter 2

It was the next day.
Thursday, June 29th 2017.
Also around seven-thirty.
Maya doesn't normally wake up at that time but she did.
It was early for her and she wasn't bothered much.
Usually she would go to Riley's but her mom wanted to talk to her.
It sounded serious.
Maya was already dressed and waited for her mother.

She was dressed in a T-shirt, some shorts and a pair of sandals.
Her hair was up in a bun and she had no make-up.

"Morning Baby Girl," Katy said.
"Morning Mom. What did you... What do you want to discuss with me?" Maya asked and Katy poured two coffees.
"Your dad wants to take you. And not away. He wants to spend some time with you," Katy said and gave Maya her coffee.
"Thanks. For how long? Two days?" Maya asked.
"Two weeks," Katy said and Maya's eyes widened.
"Excuse me?" Maya said.
"What do you say?" Katy asked and Maya's phone vibrates.

Josh of course but she wasn't in the mood for anyone.

"I gotta go," Maya said and was out the door.

It was eight and everyone in the Matthew's household is awake.
Maya still didn't reply to Josh's message and ge was getting worried.

"Riley have you heard from Maya yet?" Josh asked.
"If you haven't then I won't have," Riley said.
"Would you stop? Maya hasn't tried anything in..."

"Hey. Katy just texted me. Maya is MIA," Topanga said and Josh grabbed his shoes.
"You coming?" Josh asked and both he and Riley were off.

In the meanwhile Maya was sitting in a park not far from where the Matthews live.
She was just sitting on the grass when Riley saw her.
Inside she was furious then she saw Lucas.

"Okay I'm going to leave this one for you. I'm going to my boyfriend," Riley said and was off.

Josh knew this had something to do with her dad.
He just knew it.
Also that this wasn't going to be a easy conversation.

"You known this isn't the best hiding place?" Josh said and sat down next to Maya.
"Yeah. I guess so," Maya said and wiped her tears away.

Josh immediately saw something is wrong.
He stopped fooling around and breathed out.

"Okay," Josh said and moved closer to Maya.
"What is going on?" Josh asked.
"My father wants me to visit him," Maya said.
"Okay what is so bad?" Josh asked.
"It's for two weeks. I didn't think he would ask."
"He is your father or did I miss something?" Josh asked.

He saw Maya was rattled so he didn't fool around but he wouldn't take anything too serious.
He knew something was up.
Maya was in a state and he has to help her somehow.
He puts his arm around her shoulder and pulls her closer.

" Relax. You don't have to rush it. Take your time," Josh said and Maya sighted.
"I know," Maya said.
"Don't pressure yourself," Josh said and smiled.
"Easier said than done," Maya said.
"Relax. Everything will be fine," Josh said.
