*hahaha updated, I hope you enjoy lol, had writers block... Austin will be more involved soon*
After so many years…. So many god damn years and he’s been alive this whole time, probably having the time of his life while I was getting beaten nearly to death almost every day. Sure, I’m VERY happy and grateful that he’s alive, but I just wish he could’ve taken me with him. He has A LOT of explaining to do.
~Elizabeth's POV~
After about an hour of explaining my current lifestyle and Victoria helping our conversation by making snacks like popcorn, almost everything is clarified.
Jake told me about how he came to Florida because he wanted to own a successful donut shop and how he needed a fresh start from his ex girlfriend from Puerto Rico.
I have plenty of questions planned ahead for him. When I glanced to my left, I could see Victoria thinking, as though she were putting a puzzle together. I know her too well to know that when she thinks like this, she always says something that wouldn't has crossed my mind. wonder what she's thinking about, I have to find out later tonight after finishing talking to Jake.
~Jakes POV~
"So, let me get this straight?? After I left, they got even worse, you left to live on your own, you're hiding from them, you felt guilty for my "death"??(That was some pretty good aysyndeton there.) Before you reply, I want you to know how sorry I am for leaving you alone to deal with them. I was selfish and didn't think of my little sister when she probably needed me most."
Wow, I feel like the biggest bag of trash ever thrown into the dumpster for what I caused. I should've stayed, or at least should have offered for us to both run away instead of leaving her alone. I have to make this up to Elizabeth somehow. At least she'll never find out about the real reason I came here, she would hate me forever.
Her voice interrupted my thoughts, "With your quick recap, yeah, everything that you just said was true, and can I ask you a question?" "Sure, anything" I gladly replied, turned my head, and Elizabeth's friend Victoria was focused with something on her mind, but I think she might just be thinking about a random fact or something unsuspected. Eh, idk because we barely met so I have no idea what she might be thinking about.
~Victoria's POV~
There's something fishy about Jake, I don't know, but something about him doesn't fit well with me. I just have one if those feelings, and I'm 99.9% of the time right when I have these feelings. Yes, I'm happy my best friend is reunited with her brother, but what are the odds that he coincidently moved to Miami and ended up running into Elizabeth. It sounded planned from what I've heard... Oh, they're looking at me, I'll talk to Elizabeth about this later.
"Sorry guys, I was just thinking about how nice the weather has been lately." I smiled, really Victoria, nice save, totally believable. Jake seemed to buy it, but Elizabeth is giving one of her looks that she knows I'm lying. I just dismiss with an attempted wink and she understands.
Elizabeth breaks the ice and says, "Jake, can we meet up soon because I need to go to bed and do a lot of girl things tomorrow??" Jake replied, "Sure thing Sis, just text me, I wrote my number on that napkin on the table." We exchanged goodbyes and he left to leave me and Elizabeth to have our sleepover.~Elizabeth's POV~
"I'm gonna take a shower and then we'll chat about whatever we want and do fun sleepover things." I tell Victoria as I get up, and I go to take a shower...
30 minutes later... (maybe 45 on how I feel)
"Ok, done!! Sooo, what do you want to talk about?? I'm not tired at all" I said as I plopped down on my bed sitting criss-cross, anticipating an answer. "
She sat down in front of me, smiled, and replied, "So have you met that Austin guy we watched on YouTube?? Tell me how he is in person!!" Oh ya, she does'nt have any idea about how I met him at the clinic instead of at work.
So I filled her in with everything that happened in about 10 minutes and I could'nt help but laugh at how often her expressions changed when I got to different parts of the story, she just didn't realize how hilarious it was to see how words can effect an audience. Now I can understand why Dickens enjoyed reading his novels aloud to people.
"What's so funny?? That's a sad story!" She said during one of my random outbursts. "Nothings funny, I promise, I'm just laughing because I'm thinking of when my cat jumped and fell off of my bed!!" That was actually a part of why I was laughing, so I wasn't lying.
After what felt like 4813047235 hours of talking and laughing, we both got tired and fell asleep, my brain creating random scenarios in my head that had to do with Jake, Alex, or Austin. It was the best of dreams, it was the worst of dreams, but best of all, I got someone that I thought would never come back.
*hahahahahaha, I apoligize if this chapter wasn't interesting or too short, but I hope my little fans were happy with an update!! I know how it feels when a pesky author takes a while to update lol*
