CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

I stared to growl more, the way Kate looked at us now was hatred and pure evil. "How could you Kate," Ryan spat "well I thought who would I rather be with, my boyfriend or leader, I chose Richard," she smirked "we'll have no problem fighting you then," I growled "good, 'cause I'm not leaving my new clan," I stepped forward Kate let go of Richards hand "lets fight Firestar," Kate replied. "Lets go, trader, " I agreed. That's when swords started to swing. I hit Kate's sword I swung and dived side left hitting her in the side I jumped back and missed her sword swing, she swung down on me. I missed it by an inch I jumped forward and swung, hitting her arm, she screamed her eyes turning dark, I could see the hatred that Eric put there, blood dripped down her arm. I tried not to cringe, "coward," she smirked and I growled I had to think quick I smirked and crouched, she stared at me, she saw the opportunity I had offered and she took it and did a move I taught her she jumped left and swung right I jumped up left and I spun left slashed my sword out, hit her side then spun right and hit her again she crumpled to the ground, I saw Ryan circled by six men, I ran forwards. I hit sword after sword, Ryan than took that as an opportunity to take them down Ryan got hit in the side he yelped in pain, that just made his hits harder I was so proud of my deputy. Eric and Jordi was hit and taken down he stood up "lets save our strength for the big battle," they got up and they left all bleeding and whimpering "oh Ryan," I replied hugging him "Shade," he whispered "I'm so proud of you," I soothed "I know, I'm proud of you," Ryan replied. Ryan hugged me and kissed me, I kissed him back, when I pulled away for air he growled "oh shh," I smiled he growled louder "I love you," I replied I knew we had to stop before we did anything we might regret, he must of realized what I did and sighed "I love you too," Ryan replied I was still in his grasp I saw Ryan's eyes they were protected "hiding something from me?," I asked "yes, and it's embarrassing so your not gonna know," he whined "kitty," I sighed and grabbed his hand. I started to walk to a bench, I didn't want to go home yet. We sat and I placed my head on his chest Ryan started to stroke my hair I liked it after awhile I looked up Ryan's eyes weren't protected anymore and he was smiling he was back to normal "good, c'mon! Lets go play on the playground!," I sprung up and Ryan followed me.
I walked into the ring with Ryan at my heels I smiled I saw Bane and Sarah talking together, I saw a smile change between them "dating?," Ryan asked "I'm guessing so," I replied I walked up to Emmet and Jesse they were talking "hello boys I have a job for you," "what Firestar?," Emmet asked "if you see Richard or Kate chase them off!," I growled. "What? Why?," Jesse asked "because Kate's a Darkhbra spy!," "yes of course Firestar," Emmet replied I walked up to my rock I stood on it and sighed "yesterday I found out one of our apprentices is a Darkhbra spy, her name is, Kate," I heard growls "she left so she could be with Richard." I growled "so I don't have an apprentice anymore?," Emma asked. "No, sorry Emma," I replied "but I would like you to help me with something, I'll tell you later. Anyways today we have a member turning into a warrior," I heard quiet murmuring. "Snake, come forwards please," Snake came forwards "will you keep protecting this clan, even if it means risking your life?," I asked "y-yes Firestar, of course I will," Snake replied. I jumped down from my rock and placed a hand on his shoulder "then I say this in front of all the clan, Snake your pushed up out of an apprentice and you now have warrior status, prove your skill and loyalty and you two will get a warrior name," Snake nodded. "will you stay loyal to us and fight along side your fellow warriors?," "I do," Snake smiled "then your now warrior Snake of Firewolf!," I stepped back so my arm was extended Snake tapped my hand and bowed heading over to the warriors and smiled.
I walked onto school grounds and saw Jordi, Richard, and Kate, I growled, Kate must of heard me growling she looked over and smirked I saw a cut on her arm I put there and smirked back the three were standing in the spot my group stood so I walked past with my head held high and Ryan by my side I walked up to my group and saw my five best friends Christy. Emmet, Juei, Em, and Jake. "Hi guys," I smiled "hey Shade," Em replied "oh guys! I asked Thor and he said I can have a pool party on the weekend!," "really Shade? Awesome!," Christy replied "yes and you can all come!," I smiled. "Ryan will you come?," Juei asked "maybe," Ryan replied "what? Afraid of water?," Jake laughed "no! I'm just self-," I cut Ryan off "don't worry you can swim with your shirt on, no one will laugh, right Emmet, Jake?," I said sharply "yes," Emmet and Jake replied sadly "good," I smiled and hugged Ryan. "See?," I murmured "thank you," Ryan smiled. The bell rang and we all went our own ways when I got to math my mind was everywhere except math "Eric knows some of my moves, secrets and ways we run our clan, I wish one of my warriors could be a spy, but I'd never do that to one of my warriors, they mean to much to me," I shook my head and started to do my math.
The day went by quickly and soon the end bell rang I was walking our of school when I remembered I needed my math text book for homework so I went back inside I walked to my locker I opened it and a note fell out, "what's this?," I muttered to myself "Shade, we are everywhere, if you were smart you'd check your clan for spys," I growled and stalked out to a waiting Ryan I gave him the note and he read in, his eyes shot up "the only person that comes to mind is Hawk, and I'm almost certain that he wouldn't betray his new clan and his brothers," Ryan replied. "Same here, I think they are trying to scare us," I replied I grabbed Ryan's hand and we walked towards my house.
It was Wednesday and I walked into my clan training ring I was still shocked on what that letter said I was going to ask some people to be lookouts for the clan. I saw Emma and walked over to her, "hey Emma I need you to do a job for me, I want you to be a lookout, if anyone is acting strange, or secretive, come tell me, not anyone else no one knows, except Ryan what I'm doing, but he doesn't know who I'm choosing, so he is almost just as blind to this as everyone else, are you up for it?," "yes! I'm so honoured you would chose me!," Emma replied excitedly "excellent!," I smiled and turned to my rock "good, one lookout, a few more to go," I saw Johnny and walked up to him, and told and asked him the sane question. "Yes Firestar! I'm so honoured you chose me!," Johnny replied I smiled "hmm I got Emma, and Johnny, now who else?," I saw Anthony and I smiled but he was talking to Mouse. So I turned away to Ryan he raised an eyebrow "I'll explain later," I replied "okay kitt-I mean Firestar," he smiled "good save," I replied "Firewolf! Greetings!," I called jumping on my rock "lets get started!."
It was Thursday after school and I was walking to my locker, the school was almost empty, I had to stay five minutes after class to get help with a math question, I turned the corner then dived back behind it, Ryan and Emmet were talking ". . . And what did they say Emmet?," Ryan asked angrily "that she must pay, they won't leave her alone," "her?," I thought "this 'her' must mean something to Emmet or Ryan, maybe Emma?," I murmured to myself ". . . She must be protected!," Ryan snapped "I'll get the best warriors deputy," Emmet replied I could tell by Ryan's low growl that he was mad, instead of his voice getting louder when he's mad or scared, it gets quieter I think it's more scarier. I decided to make my appearance. And I'm going to pretend I didn't hear anything. I walked pass and went to my locker, and walked out, Ryan was close behind me "hey Tigga, what's up?," I asked "I saw some men with black sheaths around and I know there Darkhbra warriors so I wanted to walk you home," Tigga replied "aw! Thanks Ti!," and the three of us walked together, Tiggas family isn't a main or known one, even though Ti pretends it is, so mom gave him a sheath, and Thor gave him a sword, now he wears it almost as much as me, even though I wear mine all day long every day "is that a Darkhbra warrior?," Tigga asked a man was in front of us, "yes," I spat them he turned around, I was shocked. He had a long scar starting up by his left eye and ending in the middle under his chin, and he wasn't a man, he was a boy, a teen sixteen, seventeen at the most, "please don't hurt me!," he whimpered dropping his sword "what's your name?," I asked crouching down and picking up his sword "Wolfgang, but everyone calls me Scar," he whispered "Wolfgang, I like that name," I smiled he smiled "how old are you?," I asked "seventeen, please, please help me, I can't go back! They'll kill me!," Wolfgang started to cry "prove yourself! Take off your sheath and throw it away," Ryan growled "y-yes," he shook and slipped off his sheath and thew it as far as he could. "Okay?," he asked "yes, now c'mon," I replied still holding his sword and started walking.
