Chapter 2

CHAPTER 2
25 years later

CLARK
I silently hide between the bushes while sighting my prey. Raven my bestfriend and I are hunting in the woods not to kill the animals but just to capture them. We were trained to be good in combat and as well as harnessing our powers. My parents are a bit paranoid and want to keep me safe always that's why we love to hang around the woods cause thats the only moment i could feel free. I saw Raven ran silently like a speed of light. I smoothly climb at the nearest tree and saw that she was about to tackle the lion from behind but suddenly we heard metals and footsteps going to our direction. The lion immediately ran and Raven immediately jump to one of the branches of the tree. Suddenly the forest grew silent then a flash of arrow almost hit Raven but she moved fast and avoided it. Then raining arrows followed aiming both of us. I jumped down the tree trying to look for the source of the arrow. I caught some and avoided many. I saw Raven also moving fast. This invaders didn't know who they're dealing with. Then i spotted two men with armors that i didn't recognize. I smiled and immediately ran towards them i could see their shock faces from the distance. Like a wind i was already holding their metal bows and crushed it with my bare hands. I pushed them on the ground then suddenly a warrior hit me on the stomach which threw me back hitting the trunk of a tree. I could feel that the trunk broke as i pushed myself and jumped towards the warrior. At my peripheral view i saw also Raven fighting two warriors and by the looks of their strength and speed they're vampires. Two more warriors emerged and tried to kill me but i was fast enough to dodge their swords and punches. I caught one warriors arm and sense the other warrior at my back i kicked him at the stomach which threw him away. Then i turned and twisted his arm making him kneel and wail for pain. I stepped on his back and flipped over while holding the head of the soldier who kicked me in the stomach then twisted his neck making him unconscious. As i landed on the ground more soldiers are coming and ready to kill me. Fucking hell where are they all coming from. I was ready to fight when a commanding voice that is hunting and yet so enchanting said  "STOP!!" every soldiers immediately stopped and moved towards the direction of the voice in a defensive stance, ready to protect whoever that person is. Raven moved towards my side. Then i heard our soldiers running towards us maybe they heard the commotion and responded. My soldiers positioned themselves in protective stance surrounding both Raven and me. Then another person emerged from the crowded soldiers and spoke "Everybody lower your weapons now!" then they immediately complied even my soldiers followed her orders. Then i stared directly to the person walking calmly towards me then i realized who it is. It's the commander of 13 clans Lady Anya from kom Triku Clan right hand of her royal majesty queen Alexandria Woods which i have never met before i just heard about her due to the fact that every men and women my aged adores and worship her. Our General spoke "Lady Anya.. We're surprised to have you back here in sky Kingdom we didn't know you're coming we are terribly sorry for this.." "It's okay General we intentionally didn't tell you we're coming, actually the Queen is with me and we need to speak to your king."Lady Anya said." Yes ofcourse my Lady. I'll escort you to him" my general answered. Then lady Anya looked at us "By the way general you have trained your warriors well" she said. The general looked at us and hesitated to answer "well ahm actually they're not.. " then i cut him off and moved forward standing directly infront of the commander. I removed my protective mask letting my golden hair down i could see the shock faces of the vampire soldiers from my peripheral view. I looked at the commander directly and saw her face grew pale "Hello lady Anya we meet again" i said and smiled at her. "Princess.. Wow you bloomed beautifully.." she said with amazement. Then i felt a strong presence on my side and i immediately turned towards it. And there I saw the most beautiful creature i ever laid eyes upon. Her long wavy brunette hair is dancing with the wind it is like the wind is caressing her soft long hair. She wore a black armor with a royal seal attached to her red cape. She has a golden symbol on her forehead that indicates her rank and power. The one wearing that symbol could only mean one thing she's the supreme one, the ruler of all rulers, she's none other than the queen of the damned. It's the first time i saw the queen and now i understand why they worshipped her, well who couldn't with her beauty and power every man and woman will bow down to her feet. Those green enchanting eyes.. I realized that all of the soldiers even the commander bowed down to the queen's presence and here I am staring at her stuck in place. I smiled at her and bowed "It's an honor to meet you your highness" i said while looking directly at her green eyes. She moved slowly towards me without breaking our eye contact. I could feel my heart pounding so hard like its going to burst anytime. Maybe its because of her aura and power, she is so damn intimidating. She is now in front of me and still she didn't say a word. She just stood there staring at me, scanning my face and i just allowed her to, not moving even an inch taking in also her perfect sculpted face. Then the commander cleared her throat that brought us back to reality. I can feel my cheeks burning from embarrassment the queen must think I'm weird. I diverted my gaze and turned to Raven who's still wearing her protective mask. "Lady Raven you are dismissed ill see you in a while." i said to her. She bowed and disappeared. I turned to the general and said "I'll personally escort the queen to my father you can go back to your post now." "As you wish princess" the general answered and bowed to the queen before returning to his duties. I look at the queen and said "Please follow me your grace.." then i walked ahead towards the castle. I could feel her gaze burning at my back and i didn't dare to turn around. Awkward silence envelop us while walking towards the castle till lady Anya break the silence. "Princess you're all grown up now I almost didn't recognize you." "Well you have only saw me when i was just 5 years old my lady" i answered while glancing at her. "When you put it that way I felt really old" she said and we laughed. Then the queen cleared her throat which immediately brought us back into serious mode. The guards in the castle and the servants immediately bowed as we walk pass through the hallway leading to the throne room. The guards immediately open the room as soon as they spotted us and bowed. My father immediately stood up as we entered the room, my mother ran towards me and hugged me. Gosh this is so embarrassing, they tend to over react sometimes. "I told you not to wonder around the woods!! What are you even doing there in the first place!?!" my mother scolded me while scanning every inch of my body, turning me from side to side. "mom please.. I could take care of myself for goodness sake im already 24 years old. I'm not a child" i said while pulling myself out of her grip. "Your highness!!" i heard my father exclaimed and immediately bowed and for some reason he looked at me with worry while looking back at the queen. My mother pulled me towards my Father then bowed at the queen "your highness.." i rolled my eyes and crossed my arms. See how my mother shift her emotions so fast. "Edward, Abby I'm sorry for arriving without notice but we have to discuss important matters.." the queen said to my parents then glanced at me. Her voice.. It sent chilling down my spine. Is this the effect of having her presence? I bowed to the queen and to my parents then said" I'll be going now.. " then turned towards the door i was about to go out when the queen spoke that made my heart skip a beat. "Princess.." i turned to her then she continued "it is very nice to meet you too." then she smiled. I smiled back and bowed before finally walking out the throne room. When the door closed i put my right hand on my chest feeling the beat of my heart. What is wrong with me. I shake it off and sighed loudly. Maybe I'm really weird. I need to find Raven and asked her to do a sparing with me. I need to release all this tension building up in my chest. Then flashes of forest green eyes invaded my mind. I shake my head and whispered "I must be out of my mind. "
