Chapter 4: Neytiri

I could hear everything that transpired around me, I could feel it too, but I just couldn’t see it or move,

I hear Jake sharpening a branch or something, I felt him put me around his neck like I weighted nothing, but his walking was extremely loud.

Later that night, I heard Jake dip something in a gooey substance, then I noticed laugh-like barks all around us, I struggled to move, I needed to wake up so I could defend myself!! But my attempts were in vain, my body was exhausted.

I heard Jake fiddle with some matches and the sound of something being set on fire, light illuminated my eyes lids, the laughs were coming closer, I took a guess that they were Viperwolves, they hunted in large packs and encircled their prey while they tried to kill it, there was no way we were going to survive this, Jake couldn’t protect my dead weight and himself at the same time, he picked me up and carried me then dropped me on the ground, now I was desperate to wake, get up and fight,

“I don’t have all goddamn night. Come on! Come on!” I heard him yell,

He hit a couple of wolves with something, a stick? I hear the unmistakable sound of a knife being unsheathed, I heard a thud and struggle to the right side of my body, a howl of an injured or dead wolf echoes, I hear another struggle and the snapping of powerful jaws.

I hear a feminine yell to my left and maybe the whistles and thuds of arrow being released and finding their target, along with a few injured whimpers, I felt Jake touch my arm and feel for any injures, I hear a mumbled string of words,

“No, wait, don’t!” I heard Jake yell,

The light disappeared; a Na’vi woman must have put it out,

I heard the strangled breathes of a Viperwolf and feet going towards it, it was soon cut off after a mumbled string of word I couldn’t catch.

“Look, I know you probably don’t understand this, but uhh… thank you… thank you, that was pretty impressive, I would have been screwed if you hadn’t of come along… hey, wait a second?” he said,

Jake picked me up, carefully put me around his neck and started walking; he must be following the Na’vi woman,

“Hey, where are you going? Wait up, just, hey, slow down, I just wanna say thanks for killing those things,”

Next thing I know is I’m sprawled on the ground,

“Damn!” I hear Jake curse,

“Don’t thank, you don’t thank for this, this is sad, very sad only,” she said, scaring me,

“Okay, okay, I’m sorry, whatever I did, I’m sorry,” he said trying to apologise,

“This is your fault they did not need to die,” she explained,

“My fault? They attacked me, how am I the bad guy---?” he was shortly cut off after he finished the sentence,

“Your fault!” she accused,

Ha ha, Jake, it’s all of your fault!

“Your fault,” she repeated, “You are like a baby, making noise, don’t know what to do,”

“Fine,” I heard him get up, “If you love your little forest friends; why not just let them kill my friend’s ass and my ass? What’s the thinking?” he said, trying to bring some sense into the conversation,

“Why save you?”

“Yeah, why save me?” he repeated,

“You have a strong heart, no fear… but stupid, ignorant like a child,” she said,
