Chapter Fourteen

Eli's pov

I woke up smiling, something that have never happened before. I was even humming as I prepared my breakfast .
Even my secretary was scared I was sick because am pretty sure she has never seen me smile before. Well I was sick but the virus causing my sickness came in the form of a tall, strawberry blond, green-eyed Elder.

Now about that Elder, how come I haven't heard anything from him, I thought he would be all over me seeing as he didn't want to let me go last night, so where was he.

Ugh now am sounding like an clingy boyfriend.
I decided to focus on my work so as to stop over thinking  things and the amount of files stacked shows that if I didn't ,I will soon be drowned in it.

A knock on my door distracted me from my attempts at focusing on my work and not on carlos.

"Come in",I said

The door opened to reveal my Beta, Mason.

"Alpha", he greeted.
I nodded in reply.

"Where have you been, I have been looking for you these past few days",I asked.

"No where important, just an errand for my father", he replied.

"OK, but next time keep me informed" , I said with a serious tone so as  to let him no that no matter how close we are I need to let him know that as my beta, I need to know where he was at all times.

"Yes Alpha", he replied.

"So ", he started, all forms of seriousness gone , sitting on the chair in front of the desk, "there is some rumours going around that the Alpha has a mate", he smirked mischievously, " who is the lucky girl, is she hot, short or tall ?" . He asked looking eager for the answers.

I groaned, I have forgotten to tell the pack that I have found my mate, and I have not been invested in pack matters, so it was inevitable for rumours to circulate with me being so distracted these days. And I have even forgotten to tell my closest friend, I wonder how he will react to me having a male mate.

"Well?", he asked again.
I guess it's now or never.

"fine, he is very tall, and definitely hot",I said, feeling myself flush a little at actually admitting that Carlos is hot.

"He? " ,he asked his eyebrows scrunched up in confusion.

"yes he is a he", I replied feeling a little anxious.

"Oh" , he replied like he was still confused.

"you are okay with that right? ", I asked.

"Yes, of course why won't I be okay with it, I didn't expect it at all,  hell am even surprised that you okay with it , I  mean I have never seen you with any man before and even though you are not homophobic ,you have never been a big fan of gay people" ,he said.

"yeah,  I didn't expect it at all and it wasn't all rainbows in the beginning, but it is different now, he is nice and caring, and we have gotten to know each other and I think I like him, a lot ", I looked up to find mason staring at me shocked.

"What? ".

"you are the sub ,aren't you? ", he asked smirking.

"What, No!" ,I said immediately, obviously lying.

He looked at me pointedly.

"Fine yes" ,I said Resigned.

"So that's why your scent was different because you are already mated" ,he said.

"Ehm we have not yet mated"

"why would he mark you without mating",he asked, then his eyes suddenly lit up like he realized something.

"Was it consensual ",he asked looking a little peeved.

"I don't know",I said truthfully, because back then it wasn't but right now I wanted more than marking.

"What do you mean you don't know ", he growled, " Did he or did he not ask for your permission before marking you" .

"Well no but he-", I had started to say but mason cut me off.

"WHAT! ", he growled loudly as he hit the table.

I flinched at how loud it was, I looked at the table sympathetically.

"What's his name?, I am going kill that son of a bitch",mason said angrily.

Oh no he didn't, Carlos' Mother didn't deserve that, she is a very nice woman.

"Mason", I started ,trying to get things straight because I didn't like this was going. But I was cut of by a loud knock on the door.

I groaned, what's with the interruptions today.

"Come in".

My gamma Theo  came in looking anxious.

"Alpha there has been a sighting on a rogue meeting being held on our boundary "

Why would a rogue meeting be held on our boundary.

I looked at mason, he shook his head,  answering the question I knew we both had in our head.

I looked back at Theo.

"Theo, get two trackers and three warrior wolves to go with us now, meet us in a few."

"Yes Alpha", he replied and left

I looked back at mason, he nodded.

"Let's go".

We ran towards the edge of the boundary, the packs land mass was wide it took us time ,and when we were some reasonable distance away, I told the rest to stop, because if we kept running they would hear the sound of our paws hitting the earth and know we were coming .

I linked to everyone to move slowly, so we could ambush them without them noticing,
We creeped slowly through the forest, as soon as I started hearing voices I told everyone to stop.

I continued alone creeping through the forest until I saw a clearing ,I hid behind a thick bush that was just before the clearing, in clearing were werewolves of different calibre,some were in wolf form some where not, I knew because I sense their  power levels but most were rogues seeing as they were in their wolf form and they looked feral enough .

A man who looked as though he was the one in charge was addressing the crowd,    "so is there anyone who has a question? " ,he asked sounding monotonous as if other people present were beneath him.

The crowd were silent for some seconds , before a voice very familiar was heard.

"Actually I do"

I was shocked, even if I was asleep I could recognize that voice anywhere, it was recorded in the deepest part of my heart and mind.

I turned to the direction where I the voice coming from, there stood my mate.

"Carlos? ".
