Chapter Sixteen

Eli's POV.

         I couldn't look at him in the eye without dying out of embarrassment but he had no problem boring holes into my face and I could tell he was smirking, he was enjoying this a little too much.
And the man who was supposed to have my back was not helping matters at all, as he look like he was about to keel over from holding back his laughter.

I mean how is your dad barging in on your makeout session with your mate funny?.

After my dad had walked in on us, i decided that it was best to leave the 'crime scene'  and go somewhere else and 'talk'.

So that how I ended up sitting in the visitors lounge with a smirking dad and a mate who was trying not to laugh. Well it could have been worse.

"So ", my father started breaking the silence that was on it's way to becoming a very good company,

" I heard what happened earlier today, I just came over to make sure you were alright seeing as this was your first rogue problem since you became the alpha and well I can see that you are very alright",he said  smirking and looking towards Carlos.

I hastily cleared my throat to prevent him from saying something embarrassing.

"Well am okay as you can see ", I replied.

"that I can see, aren't you going to introduce him? ", he asked gesturing at Carlos.

"Yes, of course, ehm, dad this is Carlos Rodriguez, Carlos, dad ", I introduced,
Then they both shook hands exchanging pleasantries".

"So",my dad started again, seeing the glint in his eyes I knew he was up to no good,

"how long has it been since you started screwing my son? ",I gaped at my father unbelievably, the coughing from Carlos, shook me out of my shock.

"Dad! ",

"What", he said laughing, "it is a genuine question ",

"you don't ask that of question to people",I said angrily.

"Fine, since that was my only question and you don't want to answer it am leaving ",he with a pout as if offended.

I rolled my eyes at him.

Suddenly he stood up,

"Carlos see me out would you? ",he said, Carlos and I both stood up.

"Only Carlos",he repeated.

I looked at Carlos, he nodded at me saying he will be fine, I nodded back but we kept on looking at each other not moving.

"Good Gracious, he is not going of to war, he is just seeing me off", a voice drawled monotonously ,breaking us from whatever trance we were held in.

I turned to my father to shush him  but he just walked away briskly with Carlos following behind.

I sighed.
That went well.

I was in office trying to make sense of what happened earlier this afternoon when Carlos walked in, seeing his face I could tell what the 'walk' with my dad was about.

I chuckled ," don't worry he doesn't mean it ",

He looked like he didn't believe me one bit.
"Yeah, he definitely meant it".
I just laughed.

"So ",I started, getting down to the serious business, "can you tell me all about what earlier today? ",

He sighed looking defeated.

"Eli I don't want you getting entangled in all this mess".

I frowned at what he said ,"Carlos it is my job as the Alpha of this pack to be entangled in any mess concerning the pack".

His face scrunched up in disapproval "I know that but ,you are my mate and it is my job to protect you and I can't do when you are always running head first into danger",he said clearly  trying to make me see reason.

I felt anger bubbling up at his words, "Carlos for the last time am not weak ,neither am I a damsel in distress, I don't care what your job is, but my job is to protect this pack from any danger .
Because we are mates doesn't mean that will change ,remember that I was the alpha of this pack before I was your mate and as long as I am able to I will always be the alpha and that will never change if you can not respect that then am afraid this relationship can not work .", I said  angrily.

"So then what do you want me to do, you can't just expect me to sit back and watch you get hurt ",he shouted equally angry.

"Well here is what I want you to do, I want you send me a detailed report relating to do the events of today", I said sternly.

"So you are just going to ignore our conversation and your proposition to breakup", he said.

I didn't reply, I just turned my back him
"that will be all Elder Rodriguez ".

"Oh so we are on last names now, huh? ", he growled .

I kept silent.

I heard a snarl, then my door being banged closed before I let out a deep sigh.

Oh God help me.

3rd persons POV
     

           "I can't believe this is happening, if this continues then all this will be for naught", said a man standing in front of the furnace . He was holding a cane on his right hand and was wearing a grey suit, he looked to be in his late fifties,

The room he was in was dimly lit by the flames from the furnace, it was a Victorian styled sitting room and everything in it looked to be an antique.

Opposite the man was a young man, of early twenties, his head was slightly bowed.

" No it can't continue ", the old man said as if talking to himself, then he turned to the young man.

"You have to stop it using any means necessary ",he said to him.

"Yes sir", he replied then bowed and left.

"Carlos Rodriguez and Elias Stanton can never be mates,  No, an alpha and an Elder never be".
