Aziraphale sat up, rubbed his eyes and looked around him.
Huh, he thought, Crowley must have left already.
He sat up and stretched, wondering where Crowley had gone.

~~

After some time, he decided to go for a quick walk, maybe he could get some ice cream, he stepped outside the shop and immediately felt someone behind him, he spun around to look behind him and saw the worst possible thing he could have seen.
Gabriel.
The archangel fucking Gabriel.
"O-oh, Gabriel," Aziraphale stepped backwards, "fancy seeing you here"
"Aziraphale." He smiled a smile devoid of any happiness, "So, about that little trick you played down in hell."
Aziraphale felt a pit of dread form in his stomach, "Wh- what trick?"
"I'm sure you already know exactly what I'm talking about, don't you?" Gabriel had stopped smiling, and had instead adopted an expression of anger, more than you could imagine possible for a being of pure light. Aziraphale's eyes widened,

They know.

His mind raced as he tried to think of something to say, he was screwed. Completely and utterly fucked.
"So now," Gabriel spoke, pulling Aziraphale out of his thoughts, "Now, we will do something even worse than an execution." He snapped his fingers, and disappeared. Aziraphale felt a sharp pain through his chest, and ran inside the bookshop. He fell to his knees as his wings tore through his shirt, he screamed in agony as hellish flames burned through his previously white feathers. His head fell to the carpeted ground and..

"Aziraphale? Aziraphale for Satan's sake, are you alright?"

Crowley.

Aziraphale sat up and looked around him, he was in the bookshop, on the sofa, next to Crowley.
He was safe.
It was just a nightmare.
He repeated these words over and over in his head, until his thoughts were interrupted as a pair of arms wrapped around him in a comforting hug, Aziraphale hugged the demon back, as if he would never let go.

~~

Crowley sauntered back into the room, holding a cup of cocoa, he placed it carefully in front of Aziraphale, and sat down next to him.
"So," Crowley began, "what.. what exactly happened?"
"I-I was.. I was falling.. I was s-scared"
Aziraphale took a small sip of his cocoa, and smiled appreciatively at his friend.
Crowley didn't want to show it, but he was terrified for his angel, he really thought he was in danger, so he helped him as much as possible, and was quite relieved to see that he was doing alright.

~~

"Aziraphale? Can I tell you something?" Crowley decided to try to tell his angel how he felt a second time,
"Oh, of course, what's wrong?"

"Well, I, uh, how do I put this, I'm, uh, I'm kind of uhm," Crowley's heart pounded in his chest, this was it, a perfectly good friendship about to be ruined.
"Crowley? Are you alright dear? You almost look like you're about to cry." Aziraphale was starting to worry, what was bothering Crowley so much that he couldn't even say it?
"Look, angel, how long have we been friends? 6000 years. Ever since the garden, and up until now. But, uh, what I've wanted to say, for a very long time was that I- I'm.. I'm in love with you." Tears welled up in his eyes, threatening to fall down his face.
"Crowley, I-" Aziraphale smiled, a warm and genuine smile, "I love you too."
Crowley paused, this was actually happening, his angel really did care, his angel loved him.
Aziraphale was just as shocked as Crowley at what he had said, but it was the truth, he did love him.
They sat there in stunned silence, until Aziraphale noticed the tears running down the demon's cheeks, and gently cupped his face in one hand, wiping away a stray tear with his thumb,
Crowley finally broke the silence,

"So.. with that, will you be my angel?"

"If you are to be my demon then.. of course"
