chapter 13

I had to admit, I expected something completely different after I've opened my eyes. I thought we'd arrive in a horror-movie forest but we were standing in the middle of a street, the sun setting in the background.

,,This is weird.", I say looking over to Lyra.

,,Actually, it's not", my soulmate chimed in, ,,vampires can't stand sunlight, it doesn't matter if they are influenced by the drug or not. If it is possible I'd say the sun never rises to it's full potential."

,,It is indeed.", Castiel answers. ,,A lot is possible with magic."

,,Especially with evil magic.", Lyra huffed and Sam put a hand onto her shoulder, squeezing gently.

,,Okay, so how do we wanna do this? We do not have any weapons with us and nobody can guarantee that your powers work in here.", I said as I looked over to Cas and my best friend.

,,We could also just beam us back and close this damn portal forever. Baam, problem solved.", Dean smiled triumphantly.

,,Very mature of you, Dean." Sam rolled his eyes and also Castiel shook his head.

I turned around to Mick. ,,What do you think? Do we even have a chance?"

,,You worry too much, doll. Look at this group of ours. We have incredible fighters and thinkers. If we plan this logically it's the other vamps who don't have a chance. They don't really think anymore
since they have set themselves the task to drain the human's bodies which means that you, Sam and Dean have to be extra careful. Got it?"

Sam and Dean nodded and so did I. ,,Do you think that this universe could have influence on the way vampires deal with certain things, like fire?" Lyra asked as she turned to Mick who shook his head. ,,They are still vampires. Fire, wooden stakes and silver harm them, also in this world. What makes some vampires kinder than others is just the fact that we remember how it was to be human. If you ask me, these creatures here totally forgot about that."

,,But that's good, right?" Suddenly, I was excited. ,,If they still react the same way towards fire and stuff we definitely have a chance. Let's do this. Okay, so: We will try to find one vampire. One is enough for the beginning. Paralyze him with a wooden stake and make him talk then."

Dean looked at me. ,,Make him talk?" Lyra huffed into his direction. ,,I'm sure you will think of something."

,,We gotta know how many vampires we gotta deal with. Mick, do you have any idea?" ,,Around 20 maybe?" I nodded. ,,Okay. We have to find out where they are. If they are protected and if yes, by what or whom."

In that moment, Mick raised his head, closed his eyes and inhaled deeply. ,,They are close."

,,You can smell them?", Castiel was curious and Mick nodded with a smile. ,,Yes. Everyone has an unique scent." ,,I understand." ,,It's cool that you are getting along, but- we don't have a lot of time as it seems.", Lyra interrupted the conversation. ,,You are right.", Sam added and smiled at his soulmate.

,,Okay guys. Sam, Dean and I will try to find enough wooden stakes. Lyra, Mick and Castiel, do you think that you'll be able to fight them until we are back?" ,,Count on us, girl.", Lyra smiled at me and I totally trusted her. ,,Let's go boys!"

We spread out into different directions which might have been not so smart, now that I thought about it more. If one of us faced a vampire, we'd be screwed. On the other hand, we were able to cover more ground and the chances of finding wood were a lot higher. I could only hope that all of us would find back to the place we separated.

While I was walking through the area, I realized how weird all of this was. I was gonna fight vampires - with a vampire by my side who is actually my soulmate - in a parallel universe with my best friend who was a nephilim, two hunters and an angel.
