A/N: Hey guys just wanted to let you know that I will be going on vacation and I'm not sure how the wifi will be and how much time I will have to write, so it might take some time before I update this again. I hope you like this chapter! (I haven't had the chance to check it for spelling/grammar mistakes yet, so don't be too hard on me please.)

Y/N shoves her hands in the pockets of her jacket as she walks down the street. She's meeting Kevin and Joe at a small restaurant for lunch and she's a little nervous about it. Joe texted her the day after him and Sophie went on their date, and now two days later they'll be seeing each other for the first time in years. They were such close friends once. Y/N really hopes they will still be able to get on as well as they did back then and she's scared that maybe it won't be the same.

Kevin and Joe are already seated when she comes in. Kevin is sitting with his back towards the door, but Joe is facing it and he gets up the minute she steps into the room. A wide grin spreads over his face and Y/N can't help but mirror his expression. She's unsure if she should hug him or not, but Joe makes the decision for her as he wraps his arms around her. Y/N is glad he does, because the hug immediately eases her nerves. "It's so good to see you." Joe smiles as he pulls back.

"It's great to see you too." Y/N smiles back at him before she turns to face Kevin, who has stood up as well. "Both of you." She adds as she steps into Kevin's open arms.

"It's been way too long." Kevin says as he squeezes her tightly before letting go and gesturing to the seat next to Joe as he sits back down himself. "I hear you're doing a movie?" He asks as Y/N and Joe take their seats opposite him, and Y/N nods. "What made you decide to get back into acting and this whole world?" He asks as he vaguely gestures around to indicate the pictures that are no doubt being taken of them right now. Kevin really wants to know her answer to that since he himself has been out of the limelight for quite some time and he's unsure if he will ever want to get back into it.

"Okay we're diving straight in then." Y/N laughs lightly earning her a chuckle from both brothers. "Well I didn't really know what to do with myself after the Disney days and I've always been a pretty good student, so after hearing about college life from Cole and Dylan it seemed like a good idea to study at NYU." She explains before they're interrupted by the waiter, who they give their drink orders. "College was really good for me. It made me more independent and gave me the opportunity to really figure myself out. In my final year I got sent a script by a director who for some reason thought I'd be prefect for the part." She shakes her head as the last sentence leaves her mouth; it still seems ridiculous that she was actually asked to do a movie after all this time. "I did miss acting, but I wasn't convinced I had it in me. Stephen, who directed the movie, managed to convince me and here we are."

"Well I'm glad you're back." Joe says as he slings an arm around her shoulders to give a side hug. "It hasn't been the same without you around." He adds as he lets go of her to look through the menu.

By the end of lunch, Y/N and the two brothers have caught up on the headlines of each other's lives. Y/N's degree, Joe's success with DNCE and Kevin's adorable daughters have all been talked about. The only thing they haven't mentioned is Nick, which becomes painfully obvious when Kevin is telling a story and stops the second Nick becomes a part of it. There's an awkward silence as Kevin and Joe share a look, both uncertain about how to carry on.

"You can mention Nick, Kevin." She tells him with a smile. "He's your brother and a big part of both of your lives, so he'll inevitably be mentioned if we stay in touch, which I hope we will." She adds as she glances at both of them and receives confirming nods in return. "It's been ages since Nick and I dated, we were kids, it's in the past."

The brothers share a relieved look, they hadn't been sure how Y/N would react of they brought up their younger brother and it's a relief to see her taking it like this. "That's almost exactly what Nick said when I told him we were going to meet up." Joe chuckles as he recalls the conversation he had with Nick. "We still don't know why and how you two broke up, so we weren't sure if there were bad feelings between you and Nick."

Y/N furrows her eyebrows. "Nick never told you?" She asks, the surprise clear in her voice. She expected that Nick would have told his brothers, or at least Joe about it, so this is quite a surprise

"Not really." Kevin shrugs. "He told us you two broke up and when we asked why all he said was 'cause I'm an idiot'. We were a little scared that he may have done something to hurt you and that broke up with him because of it." He explains as Joe nods in confirmation.

"Oh." Y/N frowns as she tries to figure out why Nick would have kept this from them. "Well he didn't really do anything bad. He was just starting to close off more and more and then suddenly he broke up with me. He said he had to figure himself out and that he thought it was better to do that on his own." She explains. "Did he really say it was because he was an idiot?" She asks once Kevin's word fully register in her mind.

"Yeah." Joe nods. "He was pretty distant with us as well around that time, things with the band weren't good." He sighs as he recalls the tension and paranoia of that time. "And it got worse after you two broke up."

"I have to say I was pretty upset when I found out you guys broke up." Y/N admits. She had found out the same way the rest of the world did and it made her quite sad. The guys always seemed to have this unbreakable bond and it had never even occurred to her that they could break up. "I almost called you when I heard." She says as she turns her head to look at Joe.

"Really?" He asks and she sees his eyebrows go up in surprise. "Why didn't you?" He asks after she nods.

"Because I didn't think you'd want to hear from your brother's ex-girlfriend." She shrugs. "I wasn't sure what Nick had told you and I thought that the reason he gave for breaking up with me wasn't the whole truth." She sighs as she looks down at her hands. "I thought he had just gotten sick of me, but that he didn't want to say that so he came up with something else. I felt quite insecure for a while, because I really thought Nick was it you know. It hit me pretty hard and I wasn't sure if you two would still want to talk to me, so I figured it was safer to just stay away then to be rejected by you as well."

"I would have been thrilled if you had called." Joe tells her as he drapes his arm over her shoulders. "Like we said we had no idea why you two broke up, so we thought it was something bad and that you didn't want to talk to us anymore. We figured it was best to let things be, because we didn't want to make you feel uncomfortable. But we really missed you."

"Yeah, it really wasn't the same without you around. You were basically part of the family and I honestly thought you and Nick would be together for the rest of your lives." Kevin adds as he reaches out to squeeze her hands. "We were all upset when we heard you two broke up, Frankie didn't talk to Nick for like a week." He says and Y/N lets out a small laugh. "He's going to be so stocked when he hears we've seen you."

"We should send him a picture." Joe says as he pulls out his phone. "Maybe we should post one too just to watch people freak out." He adds with a chuckle. "If you're okay with that of course. I know you haven't been using social media that much over the past few years."

"Yeah that's fine." Y/N waves his concerns away. "I just didn't want people travelling after me or something like that, so I figured it would be safer to post a limited amount of stuff. But I've been getting back into it by posting things about the movie and stuff with Sophie, and it's actually really nice to see the responses from the fans." Fans from her Disney days had followed her throughout her university period and she realised that she hadn't given them much content, so she planned to make up for it now that she was back into acting by posting stuff from the set and pictures of her and Sophie hanging out.

"Well say cheese then." Joe jokes as he holds out his phone in front of their faces.
