It was a cold night and of course it had to be windy. I had nowhere to go.
My mom kicked me out of the house.
Even though I was always a trouble maker, I'm 20 years old and still in college....for now. I already have my associate's degree which is a point not a lot of people get to.
After my dad died, we had a bit a small rip in the fabric of our relationship, and it stretched with every new boyfriend she got. It just hurts me. She didn't wait long enough until she started dating again, but I don't care anymore.
I need somewhere to go.
So I stepped into a café, and I ordered a coffee. I only had $20 on me at the moment and the coffee was $3. So now I only had $17 to my name. This was making me anxious and made me feel out of place. Maybe I shouldn't have bought the coffee. Ugh, if my mom would have let me get my stuff. At least, my debit card.
I dialed a friend's number on my phone. After some ringing, she finally picked up...
"Cece, why are you calling this late? I have class in the morning," Chloe answered.
"My mom kicked me out an-" she didn't let me say another word.
"You should have called me earlier CeCe. I'm coming to pick you up. Where are ya?"
"I'm at a café near my house. I think it's called..." I looked out the window at the beat-up sign, and I barely could make out, "Jim's café?"
"Okay, I'll find it. Be there in about 10 minutes. By-"
"Wait," I stopped her from hanging up, "Thank you, Chloe. I really mean it."
"Don't sweat it. Stay safe."
She hung up. Now, all I need to is wait. Just then, some guy approached me and he needed some money. He looked pretty young in my opinion; maybe 19.
"Here you go, Sir" I gave him about half of what I had, and with a meek smile, he was off. I hope I helped him more than I can help myself right now.
