Chapter three: You're So Leaving
If I couldn't get Mason to kick him out, I'd smoke Jax out. I'm great at this: after all I did grow up being surrounded by guys. All I needed was some equipment and soon I'd be Jax-free. I found Mason's car keys on a table next to the front door, grabbed them along and drove to the nearest store. Even though Mason has an awesome car, I really missed my own car that I had left in New York. When Mason would come back, he'd drive it back. Until then I'd just have to be patient and drive Mason's car. Not that it was that much of a struggle since his car was a freaking Porsche. Mason really did like to show off his wealth.
I got to the store and started to fill my shopping cart with all things mischievous as I plotted my next move. First of all, there was the idiot test. It was one of the oldest tricks in the book but surprisingly many people still fell for it. When I got back to the house, I opened up some Oreos that I had bought and replaced the filling inside them with toothpaste. It looked just like the real thing so Jax wouldn't suspect anything before it was too late. I tried not laugh as I took the cookies upstairs.
I then knocked on his door and waited for a reply. After hearing "come in", I walked into his room and put on my best fake regret. Jax was sitting on his bed and he had his phone in his hands. I figured that he was texting his girlfriend or someone like that by the smirk that was evident on his lips as he turned to face me.
I sat next to him, balancing a plate full of toothpaste Oreos on my right hand as I looked at him with pleading eyes.
"Listen, I went for a ride and had some time to think. I'm sorry I yelled at you. You're not the person I'm mad at so I shouldn't have taken it out on you. I was just, you know, so surprised and uhm... naked so I freaked. Peace offering?"
I almost laughed out loud when he took one of the cookies. Like taking candy from a child... Or better yet, making a bad boy pack his bags and scram."No problem, princess", Jax said as he opened his mouth and shoved the cookie inside. I stared at him, waiting for him to start gagging. But the only response I got was a grin.
"Mmm, tasty. Are these Colgate-flavored?" he asked as he blissfully munched the whole thing down. I couldn't help it: my jaw dropped at the sight of this and he chuckled. "You're going to have to do better than that to fool me. Here, have a cookie. They are quite minty."
I dumped the cookie plate on him and left his room followed by a gloating laughter. Fine, he wouldn't be that easy to repel. I had figured that being the ass he is, he had probably pranked plenty of others so I'd have to get crafty. Before all the mastermind planning began, I went to rubber band the sprayer on the kitchen sink into the "on" position so the next time he used it, he'd get water all over him. It wasn't exactly a genius plan but it was surely effective if nothing else. I'd just have to remember not to use it myself.
------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------- --------------------
Finally, three hours after that whole cookie ordeal I heard Jax go downstairs, probably to go make a snack or something. I tiptoed there as well and went to sit in the living room that was next to the kitchen so it wouldn't be too obvious that I was there just to see him pissed off. I was sick and tired of him treating me like child having a tantrum: calmly and a little amused. I wanted to see him angry, too. Nothing soothes an angry mind than making someone else even angrier.
I heard him open the faucet and held my breath waiting for the swearing to begin.
There was nothing. Instead I felt someone taking a hold of my hair and making me a ponytail using without a doubt the same rubber band I had tied on the sprayer. Guess Jax had figured out that trap too. Dammit.
