Note from the author: The First Non-Poem of this "book"
A smile is a simple thing. It can turn a bad day around, give confidence or even offer a helping hand.
There are secret smiles traded between friends that speak volumes in utter silence. Smiles between lovers that show adoration and complete trust. Then there's smiles between family, smiles of laughter, smiles of sadness.
Yet there is one special smile that is rare. The stranger smile. You look up and just happen to make brief eye contact with some random person on the bus, in the halls or in the street. Your eyes connect and you smile at them. You don't know why it happens it just seems like the right thing to do. Then the magical thing is they smile back. You stand there smiling at each other for no apparent reason whatsoever and it's not awkward. Then you both break away and go on with your lives but with a good feeling because someone cares enough to smile at a random stranger.
