Chase POV:

Three days. Three whole days since we made that stupid bet. I should have kept my mouth shut.

Luke may have Victoria's phone number, but what he doesn't have is a class with her. Even though I have a class with Lisa, I just can't bring myself to talk to her. Yeah sure we had our occasional "hey, good morning," when most of the classroom says that. I don't know man, fuck.

How can I talk to her? What can I do to start making my existence noticeable? I've been thinking about "bumping into each other in the hallways" to start something. Or maybe I could look at her a few times to shoot my shots. I don't know man. I can feel like I'm going to lose this bet.

My thoughts were cut short after the bell rang, signaling that class was over and it's on to the next one. We have 5 minutes to move to the next class.

I almost forgot that today is an A day. Let me explain, so I have 4 main periods, but I have 2 different classes on one period. So basically I have 3 main periods that I go to everyday, but the fourth period one I go every other day known as A day or B day. So technically I have 5 classes this semester and next semester I will have a fresh set of classes.  It's confusing at first, but you get the hang of it after 2 weeks.

I have art with Lisa on A days, so I only get to see her 3 or 2 times a week, depending on the week.

Within 3 minutes, I'm at class. 1) It's literally on the same hall I have my previous class on, just on the other side of the hall. 2) I want to look smart in front of Lisa when she comes in.

I settled down on my usual spot. It's not my assigned seat, but I sit here. Everyone sit in their spot, I don't know. It's like a unwritten rule of don't sit on the spot I choose to sit.

"Good morning Chase, how was your weekend?" Mrs. Flora asked me, as she erased the white board. Terrible because I'm overthinking and stressing out on this bet.

"It was good," I lied, "how was yours?" I asked her as the student poured into class.

"It was relaxing. I went fishing with my husband." Mrs. Flora smiled, giggling about what I assumed a recent memory of the trip.

The class was almost full by this time. Then I saw Lisa coming in with her friend... Jasmine I think. She has long wavy brown hair with soft highlights and blue eyes. She's really pretty, almost as pretty as Victoria, but she's a little prettier than her.

"Did you catch any fish?" I continued the conversation while l steal a few glances at Lisa. She gorgeous.

"Yeah, but we threw them back in the lake." She told me. The bell rang yet again, making all conversations fade away and eventually stopping.

"Okay class," Mrs. Flora smiled and lightly clapped her hands together, "Today we are going to do a group assignment that requires only two people. Before anybody asks, no you can not choose your partners, I already chosen them for you. The reason why I did this is because I noticed the same group of people that are comfortable with each other and I wanted to expand the social groups in this room. This assignment will take three days to be completed, so I expected it to be done on the end of Friday. It's all computer based instructions, so if you have any questions please feel free to ask me. If you think it will take more than three day, you are welcomed to stay after school to finish it, I will be here everyday just incase you don't have any access to a computer. I will start in this row of people to get a laptop in the back. We will start from this row to the right." She pointed to the furthest row from me. It took a few moments of silence for everyone to get a computer.

"I will start with names. Please pair up with your partners. Once everybody settles down I will put some music on and please, if anyone have any questions, don't be afraid to ask me." Mrs. Flora smiled.

She's a cool teacher. She lets you do whatever in class. As long as you respect her and let her talk, she'll let you have your phone out. Because of this, no one really talks too loud and everyone finishes on time. She occasionally brings snacks in class too. She has this smoothing voice that makes the room have a peaceful vibe. She's strict but she know when to be strict and when to be cool.

"Jade and Chase." My ears perked up as I heard my name being called out. Who's Jade? I scan the room to try lock eye contact with her. The thing is, who is she?

"Jade?" I called out, hoping to see if I caught her attention in any way. The same girl who entered the class room with Lisa looked at me.

"Yes?" She spoke, standing up to walk towards me. Well shuffled toward me because she has wide hips and can't walk in a straight row of desks. They are closer than the average classroom because this art room is tiny compared to other classes. I think the teacher going to try to switch the desks with long tables to maximize space.

Everyone was paired up by now. I was bummed because I didn't get to be with Lisa. At least I was with... with her friend! Why haven't I thought of this sooner! I can be friends with her friend and hopefully I can be closer to Lisa. Bingo! I feel so stupid right now.

The music started, which was a good signal that it's time to start this assignment.

"Let's get one thing straight." Jade said suddenly, her blue eyes locking with mines.
