Jade POV:
His hazel eyes filled with confusion. I didn't mean to come off rude. I immediately felt bad about it.
"Uh I kinda do all the work, so if you don't help me then that's okay. I just want to see if we get this straighten out because last time people acted like they were going to do the work and never did, and we failed because of that. So be real with me, are you going to help, or not?" I asked him. I don't have time to babysit kids and put up with their bullshit. No sir, not today.
"I'm sorry to hear that. I will do my part, so don't worry." He told me.
"You're not bullshitting me?" I asked him. It's a yes or no answer.
"Yes. I'm sure." He reassured me, he looked a bit annoyed. Okay, he's telling the truth. That's good.
"Okay, good. So we are going to read the instructions and divide it equally." I told him as I signed in to my google classroom account.
"Yes ma'am," Chase saluted while he did the same thing. Okay so far, this assignment looks manageable to finish the within two days. I think the teacher wants to test us in our time management skills. The task is very simple, just time consuming. Overall, good. A few questions about different topics. I think we could do this presentat-
"How old are you?" Chase asked me, cutting off my thoughts. I fought the urge to roll my eyes. Relax, he's trying to be friendly.
"I'm 17." I told him, smiling. Were was I? Oh yeah, we can do it in a presentation format. It will be easier and quicker. I should try to do this by myself just in case he ghosts out on this-
"Soo, how do we split this up?" Chase asked me. Hmm, that's a first.
"We can start by doing what we find easier to us, so that way I can do something easy that you find hard and vice versa." I suggested.
"That's smart." He told me. Hm, I'll do it just in case, for back up. "Are we going to stay after school for this?"
"I can't stay after school for this, I got something to do. I'm sorry. So let's get this done much as possible." I told him.
"Sure thing. You seem to like school. I normally don't have the motivation to start on assignments early in the morning." Luke lightly laugh. I smiled a lil and shook my head.
"Not, really. I don't want to do homework when school is done so that way, I don't have worry about it." I explained to him. Which is half of the truth.
"That makes sense. See, I developed a bad habit to copy as much as I can before the teacher collects my homework. I usually finish before they collect it." Chase explained. I used to do that, but I stopped when I got older.
"Yea, I did that a long time ago. Then I got older and I stopped because I got stressed out and it was unnecessary. This project is really simple. You want to work a lil on it at lunch? When we finish eating that is." I asked him. Hopefully he says yes. I sound like a workaholic, but I try to do my homework in school as humanly possible.
"Yeah I don't mind. When's your lunch? I'm not sure if we have the same lunch schedule." Chase asked me. I didn't think of that.
"I have lunch at 9:30." I informed him.
"Me too. I guess I didn't see you in there yet." He said. I haven't seen him either. I'm happy he's being cooperative, most people won't and don't care. Maybe I should lighten up a little. "How old are you?"
"I'm 18. I can't wait to graduate this year. I hate school." He groaned. I nod my head in agreement.
"I like school, I just don't like to wake up in the early in the morning. Other then that I'm good."
"Sameee. Don't get me wrong, I love to learn but what I want to learn is things that actually helps us for the real world. I mean, half of the things we learn are basically useless." He expressed, throwing his hands in the air.
"Yessssss. I have to teach things myself sometimes because we are conditioned to expect someone to tells what we need to know. Not all the time, but yeah." I told him, rolling my eyes, a bad habit of mine.
"What do like to draw?" He asked me, changing the topic suddenly.
"I like to paint. I can draw and shade, but I love to blend the water colors, and sometimes I like to use pens to blend and highlight some features." I told him, "I love that shit. Whenever I have free time, I use it to draw, and to read, but to mostly draw."
"You can add that to the question, but on the assignment, one of the questions are 'what do you like to draw?,'" Chase explained to me. My eyes widen a little, and I felt my face heat up. I absolutely hate blushing. I can't control it, whenever I'm embarrassed, I heat up.
"Ooooh," I replied to him, feeling hella dumb. I didn't realize he was reading the questions out loud. "I like to draw mostly nature. I take pictures and try to recreate them."
"That's cool. I can't draw for shit. I got stuck in this class. I'm so grateful tho. Ya know, to learn about art," he nervously chuckled. I didn't think too much of it.
We silently worked on the assignment throughout the period. By the time the class was coming to an end, I have a feeling we can finish on our remaining lunch time. Lisa would probably be annoyed, but I don't care. She thinks classwork should stay in class.
"Thank you." I told chase, smiling a little bit.
"For what?"
"For not bullshitting me."
"No problem," Chase lightly smiled. He glanced up a bit and winked at me.
