The First Real Mission

Our training is over for a while because we have our first real mission. They discovered a base of the aliens on the moon. We are to wipe it out. How are we going to breath you might ask? They have a ventilation system in our Mechs and boosters to move around.

We are nervous because we leave tomorrow and even though now in simulations we are like one mind and the last couple of simulations we lost no people. But we are still nervous because what if they are smarter than we think or are more powerful than we think.

We are now in my room, talking about it.

"This is crazy." Dan said.

"Not really. I mean, we've been training for months now and are way better than we could imagine." Emma replied.

"And also remember that me and Emma are the best in hand to hand than anyone else and that we'll have Mason watching over us." I commented.

"But we haven't fought alien infantry that much." Dan said.

"Yeah but there only a little bit taller than the Mechs." I said to reassure him.

"Let's just get a good night's sleep." Joan said so as to not have an argument rise.

We went to bed so we could leave in the morning.

We left at ten that morning and saw Earth from space. We couldn't believe it. Along with us there were ships taking off from everywhere around Earth. There were at least 2500 ships in the air.

"As you can see, you are not the only ones with a mission." The President's voice said on the speakers to everyone.

"You have all been assigned a mission to do. For some, it involves a lot of traveling, but for others, it is right here in the moon. I want to wish all of you good luck out there."

That was all. I then realized that there is more than one base on the moon. We are going to destroy only one out of many.

We landed and got suited up 400 meters from the base. We saw it in the distance.

"That's huge." someone said over the comlink.

"Let's move out." I said.

The airborne Mechs stayed behind so they wouldn't make much noise.

"Let's run to it." Dan suggested.

"No they'll see us coming." I replied.

"Ok, 100 meters out." Anya said.

"Ok everyone, get ready." I said.

"Shields up." everyone said at once to me.

"Weapons free." I commanded.

As soon as I said it, rockets rained down on the base. But since we were in space, nothing exploded but made small explosions. It was enough to damage the base.

"Surround the base!" I yelled.

People moved in to flank the base but the aliens came out of nowhere behind us and started to fire.

Our comlinks all of a sudden synced to everyone else's on the moon.

"We're being overrun!"

"Aliens have escaped the base!"

"We need help!"

"Airborne come in, I repeat come in." I said.

"Mason here, what do you need?"

"Help!" I barked out.

A few seconds later, machine gun fire destroyed all of the aliens around us. There was hundreds of airborne troops flying overhead. It wasn't just Mason's group, but others as well.

"Thanks you guys, that's one base out. Now go help the others." I told them.

"We're on our way." Mason said.

We ran over to the next base and helped out there.

MISSION END

We were shipped back and got some rest. They told us the mission was a success. We had no deaths but some injuries. We were proud.
