The Officiant

The officiant stood in the middle of the circle of friends and began speaking to the group, “Good afternoon, I am honored to be here to witness the union of the two individuals who have shown us what love is and what it can endure. I’ve written a few thoughts and I hope you will indulge me but I wrote this for you Shancai and Si and I believe it encapsulates the feelings you have for each other.” With a clear voice and steady cadence, Ms. Rosmi Writes began speaking in a voice that weaved a spell on those in the circle and an instant peace decended in the garden. It was as if the hallowed ground recognized her words as sacred and the moment became suspended in a place neither reality or fantasy.

I will brave the world for you
And take it’s beating on my back
And carry the burden of being your to our end
For you
You are my eternal
My life long love
Rooted in my heart
Burned in my skin
For this love is more than
Ephermal moments
Of stolen glances and sly smiles
Of feelings
That fade and burn
Like morning mist to the morning sun
You are my Gidden truth
That speaks of my soul’s desire
This is our eternal
Shifting with the tides, drawn up and down by currents
An ocean wave that crashes into sand
And returns to its depths
Always together,
My love
So let us shoulder through loving each other through our burdens
Sharing the bitter and the sweet
Belonging to each other

*Author's Note,  This poem is one written by @rosmiwrites and I've included it here because she wrote it for our star crossed lovers and her words are perfection.
