The usher carefully maneuvered through the crowd to the designated Groom side of the room which if they were being honest was about 4/5ths of the entire place. He gestured to 2 empty chairs before making his quick escape back to the entrance for more guests and left the two pretty albeit oddly matched women to sort the seats out for themselves.
Jing and Kiki both gestured to the other to enter first then laughed as they both bumped shoulders while trying to enter the row. Kiki took the first seat then turned to Jing with a bright smile but Jing was busy scanning the raised platform in the front of the room where the wedding ceremony would occur and where, surely, Huaze Lei would be at any moment.
Kiki, ever the chatterbox, started oohing and aahing to Jing about the extravagant surroundings and how impressed she was over the important people in attendance, when she made the casual reference that her boyfriend was the best man and she couldn't wait to see him in his tuxedo and completely missed the look of abject shock on Jing's face.
