back at HQ, tony stands on the balcony looking out into the trees. natasha walks up to him,
"how is she?"
"doc said she only suffered a fractured shoulder and wrist"
"a chance of memory lost as well"
nat sighs,
"steve's not gonna stop if you don't either. maria is the best case scenario"
....
"...you let them go nat"
"we played this wrong tony"
"i'm sorry, 'we'? it must be hard to shake the double agent thing huh? it sticks out in the DNA"
"jesus tony, are you incapable of letting go of your ego for one god damn second?"
"ross knows what you did, he's coming for you"
"i'm not the one who needs to watch their back" natasha scoffs as the clacking of her heels fade into the distance
..
tony's watch beeps and he pulls up a hologram
"what am i looking at friday?"
"priority upload from burlin police"
"..get the chopper ready"

as tony is at the raft prison, maria is stationed at HQ in the lab. she sits there enduring tests from the doctor. sitting there on the examine table, she stares at the ground with no emotion. grey fills her eyes as she stares. the doctor and nurse walk over and wave their hand in front of her eyes. no response.
had papa forgotten about me?
why didn't he come back?
why did he leave me?
i've always loved papa, papa was the fun one
papa always knew what to do
tears start to develop in her eyes, she looks to her arm and rips out her IV, peels off the heart monitor pads and yanks the brain wave stickies. the doctor and nurse rush over to her and try to stop her. she pushes them off and takes off her shoulder sling, she grunts in pain and continued to unwrap her wrist and gets off of the table.
maria begins to slowly walk only to hit the ground as she falls, she lies there.. crying and in pain
does papa not love me?

tony walks into the section with the cells and is greeted by clint clapping,
"the futurist gentlemen! the futurist is here! he sees all! he knows what's best for you, whether you like it or not"
"give me a break barton, i didn't know they would put you here"
"yeah, we'll, you knew they would put us somewhere"
"yeah, but not some hokey pokes ocean jail. this place is for maniacs.. for-"
"criminals?, is that the word you're looking for tony?"
"because you all broke the law"
"yeah"
"i didn't make you"
clint continues to block him out by saying "la la la la la" like a little child
"you're a grown up with a wife and kids clint, why didn't you think about that"
..
tony walks up to sams cell,
"how's maria?"
"she's fine, the doctors are monitoring her for signs of memory loss"
"what do you need here?"
"so, you're the good cop now?"
