tony takes maria to live with him in one of his mansions in newyork. maria stays clear if tony for a couple of day but eventually caves in.
maria walks to the lab and finds tony working on her suit.
"maria! so glad you came down"
"come, come.. i'm almost done with your suit"
maria walks in to see her suit complete, she admires it.
"dad..."
"when can i go see papa"
tony pauses and puts down a screwdriver and wipes his forehead.
"...maria, we cant"
"why not?"
"because...we- you cant"
"we don't know where he is"
tony gets up from his chair, wipes his hands on a rag and walks up the stairs to the house. maria watches tony leave, she looks at her suit once more and moments later, she has it on and leaves the house.
"friday?"
"good afternoon maria"
"can you find where pa- steve rogers is?"
"calculating route to 'steve rogers'"
"would you like me to tell tony that you're leaving?"
"n- no!"

maria is off in the world looking for steve, maria never really had that close of a relationship with steve but once he was gone.. maria realized that he has done so much for her in her lifetime.
she's flying all over newyork but finds herself back at HQ, she questions friday and she confirms. maria lands on site and sees someone in the distance.
steve is inside and hears something outside, he looks out side of the window to see an ironman like suit standing outside, he walks out the door and just stares. soon enough the person removes the helmet to reveal maria's brown curly hair. steve goes running up to her.
"maria?"
"papa!"
steve looks at maria in her suit, he puts a hand to cup her cheek.
"where did you go?, does tony know your here?"
"no.. he doesn't"

maria and steve walk into HQ, she takes off her suit and docks it in the lab downstairs. she walks back up.
"sorry you have to go through this, i didn't want it to happen"
a dark figure appears behind steve, maria is slick enough to turn her watch into a mini gauntlet, she raises it up and almost shoots the figure,
"maria, stop"
the shadow becomes a man with a metal hand, maria recognizes who it is and still has her hand up, steve looks at her and she slowly lowers her arm.
"dad has this.. this kid named peter.." maria sits down on the couch, she slowly goes to lay down
"and he always brings his best friend uhhh"
"yelena, that's her name"
steve walks over to maria and sits next to her, listening to everything maria has to say.
"got a crush on peter?" steve sips his coffee
maria sits there in silence to think,
"but that's the thing... i like.. yelena"
maria heres steve choke on his coffee. she gets up,
"i knew that would freak you out.. i should get going..." maria begins to walk towards the lab
"kid wait" steve walks to maria and puts his hands on her shoulders
"i'm glad you told me, you love who you want to love.. i'm here"
maria hugs steve
"yelena is my sister" bucky ruins the moment
"yelena ivanov is your sister?" maria breaks the hug to look at bucky
"same mom, different dad.. haven't seen her in... forever" bucky begins to ramble
"found out she was frozen and kept by shield while i was in hydra. the last time i saw her was when she was a baby"
...
"i- i have to go" maria gives one last hug to steve before she heads down to the lab, steve walks outside to see maria take off.
maria arrives at home and tries to sneak into the lab, lights turn on and maria is met with a disappointed cross armed tony,
"so, how is he?"
"who?"
"for christ sake maria, i know where you went"
"how is he?"
maria gulps,
"he's uh.. he's great"
"i don't want you to sneak out like that again.. i can't have you out there without me knowing" tony walks back up stairs
