"You're pathetic!"

"What a loser!"

"You're such a baby, oh my god!"

No these weren't bullies, these were my friends.

They were harassing me for making a long walk to the stairs, instead of going straight down the rocks and onto the beach. I flip them off and continue my way.

I carefully walk down each step and meet them at the center of the sand, where they began to set up. There was no one here besides us, probably due to the fact that it was late already, but even during the day there were little to no people here.

It was a private beach my parents and I found one day, it's in between two huge rocks and was a little further up than the most famous Malibu beaches. Even though it technically was a private beach the owners of the house to which it belonged were never there, and of course, people were allowed into it. Since it's sort of hidden, not many people know it's there.

It's still pretty sunny, but there was a hint of orange coming into play. We spread out both picnic blankets down, one next to the other and I set the towels down. I take off my hoodie and put it on top of the towels. Ethan gets out his speaker and plays some indie music I don't recognize.

I put my sunglasses in and lay down next to Noah on one of the blankets.

"What, are you too scared to go take a dip in the water," he lifts one eyebrow at me.

"No, are you?" I quirk an eyebrow at him and he chuckles.

"Of course not! I, my dear, am not scared of anything." He laughs and pushes his sunglasses back up his nose, and lays flat on his back.

"Oh, should I remind you of the haunted house we went to? It was tenth grade I believe," I laugh, remembering how he ran out, basically in tears.

"One-time thing," He shrugs. I giggle and I sit to see what everyone else was doing. Charlotte was already deep in the water, and Ethan and Andréa were chasing each other by the shore. I couldn't see Sammy though.

Suddenly I feel someone behind me. I squeal as Sammy grabs me and walks to the water. There were two things on my mind right now.

One, I was humongous, how on earth was he carrying me? Two, I still had my shorts on.

"No, Sammy! Please don't! At least let me take off my shorts! My sunglasses!" I yell and rip them off my head, throwing them somewhere in the sand.

He just laughs and walks even faster,, now it was more of a jog. I could hear his feet splashing against water now. I couldn't see anything cause my head was moving up and down too fast.

"Sammy! No! Please don't!" I yell once more but he lets go of me anyway. I land in the water splash and struggle to resurface.

I wipe my eyes and immediately search for Sammy. He was already rubbing back to the sand. I charge towards him and he begins to laugh.

I could feel the shorts, sticking to my skin, and almost gagged, but continued to chase him anyway.

"Come here you little fucker!" I yell, and even I'm surprised by my choice of words.

He laughs loudly and begins to run in a zigzag.

"Did I just hear you say fucker?" I hear Noah yell and I giggle but continue my chase towards Sammy. Eventually, I get tired and I give up, I realized there was no way I could outrun a marathon runner.

I go back to where Noah was laying and take off my wet shorts. I put them under my hoodie. Normally, I would be way too self-conscious to wear a one-piece by itself, but there was no one here and I could care less about my appearance when I was with them.
