ANEMONE

"the name anemone comes from the Greek word for 'windflower.' It is said to bring luck and protect against evil, but it is also used to represent anticipation."

Harry didn't think that there was a word for it. There couldn't be, there simply wasn't a word grand enough to even begin. Words like 'pretty' and 'beautiful' didn't even scrape the surface of what Harry wanted to put into words. How could you possibly even describe how gorgeous he was?

Even when his blond hair hung over his eyes, he was lovely. Even when the sun cast shadows through his long eyelashes, he was still beautiful. Even when he fumbled with his steps, he wasn't clumsy, but he was charming. The boy was nothing less than ethereal.

He watched as he always did, the way Draco moved around the small shop. He didn't walk but rather danced around it. He watched the way his fingers would close around the stem of a flower, and the way he would turn it over and examine it as if it were the most precious thing on the earth. How funny, didn't he know that he was the most precious thing?

"Harry, you're staring again," The blond spoke without even looking up from the daisy cradled in his hand.

The brunet blushed, trying to hide the pink tint by putting his face in his hands, "I am not! I'm simply admiring the flowers. . ."

Draco looked up from the flower, meeting the other boys gaze, then gestured around the store with his finger,

"You have the entire store to look at flowers, yet you choose to look over here in this small corner?" Draco smirked and went back to choosing. "I think you're lying, darling."

      "Am not!"

      "Are too."

"Ugh!" Harry shouted, throwing his hands up in the air. "You're so annoying!"

The blond let out one of his lovely laughs, and moved to another vase near the front, "And you're a liar. I'm not sure about you, but I would rather be annoying than a liar."

"I'm not a liar!" Harry exclaimed. He hopped off of the stool that he sat on behind the counter, and moved to stand next to Draco, observing what the other boy was looking at.

"Which ones are those?" The brunet pointed to a bunch of red flowers that were perched on a flower box. "They're pretty."

Draco smiled, "I can assure you that they're not nearly as pretty as you are." Then he picked up one of the red flowers and explained, "They're anemones."

Harry furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, "Anemones? Isn't that the thing that Nemo lived in?"

Draco laughed, and corrected the brunet, "Those are sea anemones. These are different," He showed Harry the flower in his hands and spoke again. "These flowers are said to bring luck and protection against evil. But it's also used to express anticipation."

Harry ran his hands through his hair, "Why do you know about all this stuff?"

"So I can use it for moments like these, grumpy," Draco smirked. "How else am I supposed to get the pretty boy to like me?"

Draco tentatively reached out with his hand, and almost in slow motion tucked the single flower right behind Harry's ear.

"There you go," Draco let his hand linger on the others cheek for just a second. "Just saying, the flowers look more pretty on you than they could anyone else."
