•Maddi Jane•

I sat at the kitchen table alone eating my breakfast.  'She looks so Perfect' by 5 Seconds of Summer was playing lightly in the background while I hummed to the music. Suddenly the door bell rang. I went over to the radio and turned it down a bit and then I went to the door.

"Coming!" I yelled.

I was currently wearing my black spandex shorts and overly sized tee shirt that was tied in the back. My hair was in natural calm beach waves going down my back.  It was Saturday and this week has been dreadful. Luke and his friends have been eating with me daily despite what I say. No matter how much I dislike the idea they are really funny and charming, not the dicks I thought they were. They actually talk to me which is weird... But nice.

I opened the door to come face to face with Luke... Wait what? "Hey" he walked past me casually into my house.

My parents are out on a business trip for a few days. They won't be back until Wednesday.

"Come in please," I said sarcastically following him into the kitchen.

He just smiled and opened the fridge pulling out a gallon of milk. As if he lived here. He searched the cupboards for a second until finding a glass appropriate. He poured the milk into the cup and put away the carton.  He sat beside me and began to drink the cup.

"Why are you here?" I sighed. Looking at him.

He smiled, "your coming to this place with me and some of the guys later on," he said

"Um no I have plans," I lie.

"Yeah? With who? Please enlighten me,"

I sat in silence.  Clueless of what to say. Dammit.

"Exactly. So I'll pick you up at three," it was 2 o'clock.

I groaned, "fine, I'll be ready," I murmured.

"One last thing." He said starring curiously at my outfit. I nodded slowly wondering where he was going with this. "Why?"

"Why what?" I chuckled.

"Why do you dress like a hobo and then at home you dress like... Well like a normal person. I mean you could be a model for how beautiful you are, why do you hide it?"

My heart dropped. Not because he called me beautiful(don't get me wrong I'm still wrapping my head around it) but he called me a model.  Could he find out? No. He couldn't. Because if he connects me to the Model and Actress I once was then he would catch on to what happened. I need to act natural. What's an excuse?

"I uh, h-have Ebola?" I stuttered shit that doesn't make any sense. " wait no.. That doesn't make sense. Um I just don't want to be judged by my appearance but to be judged on my personality. All my life I have been judged by my outfit and if its 'in' so I needed a change. And here I am" I told the truth. Or well most of it.

He chuckled, "alright I see your point. But there's more to that sunshine. More to you. Your different. And I plan to find out," he winked and got up. "See ya in an hour.

I was left shocked sitting in my chair.

We sat on the cold lifeless boulders looking out at the view. The wind blowing in out faces. My long brunette hair being blown on the right side of my body and my  eyes focusing out on the water front view. He was on the large rock beside mine and collecting the view as was I.

Luke, the boys, and many other students from school all gathered at a park on the beach. They set up a bonfire and was told to bring something to burn. Darrah was talking to a few girls from school as I was looking at the view with Luke.

I looked behind me to the laughing drunk teenagers having a great time.  It was around 5 o'clock and the sun was setting. It was perfect.

" its beautiful," I said acknowledging the sight that lays in front of my eyes.

"It is" he agreed

"Why did you invite me here?" I began. "Why do you talk to me?"

"What do you mean sunshine?"

"Your Luke Ryder. You haven't been here to long but you still have girls falling on their knees for you. You have so many friends here and can talk to anyone right now but you sit here with me,"

"You think to much" he replied simply not giving me a straight answer.  I sighed. He opened his mouth the say something but one of his drunk friends came over tripping and not being able to walk in a straight line.

"Hey man," he patted Luke on the back. You could smell the whiskey from here. Gross. He then directed his eyes on me and smirked. "Is this the girl you felt bad for. You know that loner girl you kept talking about,"

My heart stopped, what? Was him being charming all just a game? I knew it. I can't believe it.

"Ron, shut up," he warned.

"What?" He slurred. "I'm just saying you called her a nerdy loner with no friends and that's the only reason you talk to her because you felt bad," he then walked away putting his hands up in surrender. Tripping a few times but got back to the fire.

"Madis–" he began but I cut him off by walking away. I ignored the sudden calling of my name but I just kept walking. Passing the drink idiots and the horny teenagers. I made my way to the main road and started walking up it. The town isn't that far but its a decent 20 mins or so. Only 10 in a car.

"Madison," I heard a calling. I looked beside me to see Luke in the car driving at my Pace. I ignored him and kept walking. "Madison I'm sorry. All I can say is that's how I described you before getting to know the real you. Just please forgive me. I thought you know we had something good going on," he said the last part lowly.

"Please just take me home," I said trying to hold back the tears.

"Get in," he said unlocking the door.

I did exactly that. We drove for a bit in complete silence. It was a comfortable silence but still didn't break the tension.  When we stopped outside my house he opened his mouth to say something but closed it as I made my escape.

I have to admit it hurt. I don't know why it hurt because I have known him for such little time. So why do I feel like he just slapped me across the face? It can't be. I couldn't actually have feelings for him, can I? No. Definitely not.

As I reached for the door handle to my front door I felt a hand grab my arm and pull me into them. It was Luke. He was hold me close, were our faces were just centimeters apart. As if we were in a cliche movie it started sprinkling a light rain.

"Luke... What are you doing?" I said lightly. My body quivered. My legs became weak. We were so close. Does this mean he feels the same?

"You ask too many questions," he whispered. He pulled me closer and our lips met. My eyes fluttered shut. At first I was shocked but it didn't take me long to kiss him back. It was official. I have fallen for Luke Ryder, and this boy will be the death of me.
