Chapter 24 -pt. 3

My feet were so sore so I called Bogum out.

"happy birthday beautiful." he said again. He always knew how to make me blush.

"thanks gummie." I replied smiling.

He sat on the ground in the park and spread his legs for me to slip myself in between them. I did and he wrapped his arms around me and let his head drop to my shoulder.

"who planned all of this?" I asked him.

"I did. I'm sorry do you not like it?" he asked me worried.

"no, I love it. It's the best birthday I've ever had and I don't know how to say thank you for this."

"your welcome Tae. I'm sorry if I couldn't spend much time with you these months. I was thinking about what I could do." he replied. I leaned back into his chest to get more of the warmth he was emitting.

"you're the best boyfriend in the whole world." I turned to face him and initiated a kiss. I felt so shy. Butterflies erupted in my tummy. We kissed each other so passionately and I couldn't ask for more. I loved him so much.

We broke off the kiss and layed down on the grass to admire the night sky. Beautiful as always.

"you do know that there'll be a lot of drunk teenagers here tonight right?" I asked him giggling.

"sure." he pulled me closer to his chest, "but my baby deserves all the attention." he said leaning down and placing a short kiss on my lips. I giggled.

Even if they all pretended like they forgot about my birthday, they made up for it.

Even if my parents aren't here, I have the others - Bogum, Jin hyung and Hobi hyung. That's all that matters.

Not like they were ever around.

"I promise you Taehyung. We'll always be together." Bogum said grasping my hand in his.

"so let's walk down there and tell them how much we love each other. Don't be scared. I'll always be here."

He held my hand as we walked downstairs. I took in a long deep breath and then looked at everyone in the parlor - eomma, appa, Jin hyung, Hobi hyung, and finally Bogum who was beside me.

I had to do it. It's now or never. I took another deep breath.

"e-eomma, a-appa?" I called.

They all turned to look at me and I couldn't. I couldn't do it. All these eyes looking at me were just too much. Bogum gave my fingers a reassuring squeeze and it kind of relaxed me.

"I-I...need to tell you s-something." I stuttered. It was simple just say the words that's all. They gave me questioning glances. I was so nervous.

"I..." I gulped down the saliva that was beginning to pile in my mouth.

"I... I just-" take a deep breath. Bogum's here.

"I just wanted to tell you guys... That I love you so much."

"Tae," mom called. "we love you too baby. So so much. And I'm sorry that were not always around-"

"I'm gay." I added.

For a moment, everything and everyone became quiet, it was pin drop silence. There was no movement or sound of anyone's breathing. The only sound was the sound of the clock which was ticking like it was waiting for something to happen.

My father stood up from his seat and walked towards me. Cold sweat broke out on my forehead. I gulped.

"you're a disgrace to this family." he said it so lowly that it was almost unhearable. Maybe it was my imagination. I let go of Bogum's hand.
