A/N: What's up, party people?! I'm sosososososo sorry I haven't updated in months. >_< I've been doing a lot of work stuff and dealing with life stuff, so I haven't been able to marinate in my creative juices as much. Anyways, back to the story!
Last time....
After a few moments, he realized that her breathing had steadied and looked down. It seemed (Y/N) had fallen asleep in the position they were in. He swallowed tightly, trying to disentangle himself from her embrace to no avail. He sighed a little and leaned backward, laying on her bed and looking down at her peaceful expression. Before he could really think about it, he pressed his lips to her (S/T) forehead and closed his eyes, a deep heat spreading across his usually stoic features.
'Just for now,' he thought to himself, mocking his unwillingness to let her suffer alone like that, as well as his actions. 'Just for now, and then it'll be back to my original mission.' After a moment, he too fell asleep, subconsciously pulling (Y/N) even closer to him than before
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Y/N) felt warm, almost too warm. What was that pressure around her waist? 'How strange,' she thought to herself as her mind finally woke up completely. She scrunched up her face before opening her eyes. Immediately, a deep crimson dusted her (S/T) face. Kuki had her wrapped in his arms, her head resting on his chest. The usually cranky boys face was relaxed, for once, and (Y/N) noted to herself that if he relaxed once in a while, he'd actually be pretty handsome. She contemplated for a moment about just rolling with it and going back to sleep, but her conscience made her think better than that. She reached up, gently shaking his shoulder to wake him up.
"Kuki," she whispered gently, trying to wake him as carefully as she could. Back in the States, she had tried to wake Rielle in a far less gentle manner, and she got a concussion for her efforts. She didn't want an incident like that to repeat, so she opted for this. Kuki grumbled a little before turning with the girl in his arms so he was laying on his side. She chuckled a little. 'Stubborn, even while asleep,' she thought to herself, smirking a little. An idea popped into her head, and her smirk grew slyly. She leaned up and whispered in his ear, "Kuki, if you don't get up, you're gonna miss the promotion ceremony~"
At that, his eyes opened quickly and he looked down at her. He had forgotten where he was, so the shock coursing through his being was almost palpable in the room. (Y/N) was pressed into his chest, a sly grin on her delicate face. "Hey, buddy," she said, chuckling a little, "How was your nap?" He immediately let go of her and sat up, his face increasingly reddening as he processed the situation before scowling at the girl. "Not cool," he mumbled, referring to her promotion trick. "Aww, were you enjoying crushing me into oblivion," (Y/N) questioned, batting her eyes at him teasingly. "Sorry, Kuki crisp, but some of us have morning routines that they have to start"
Urie's head whirled. It was morning?? He didn't even realize he had fallen asleep so quickly. He looked at his feet, scolding himself internally for getting mixed up in this situation when he should be solely focusing on his job as an investigator. (Y/N) noticed his shift in behavior and sat up, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Hey," she said gently, diverting his gaze back to her, "I just wanted to say... Thank you, Kuki. I was being stupid, and I really appreciate you being there for me. I won't tell anyone about this, if you want." His eyes widened at her last comment, though his expression was still stoic for the most part.
He ran a hand through his hair and replied, "Don't worry about it. We're... friends, so I guess it's okay." She grinned a little and hugged him tightly from the side. "Hah, thanks Kuki. You're actually a pretty nice guy when you wanna be," she said cheerfully. It seemed that the previous days events had been mostly long forgotten. His cheeks heated up a little at the gesture, but Kuki couldn't bring himself to make her stop. She let go after a moment, beaming and standing up. "Well," she said, "Time to kick this day in the teeth, am I right?"
