Logan continued to knock on the prince's door. He knew that Roman was a heavy sleeper but it was getting really annoying.
After a few more minutes of persistent knocking, the door finally opened with a half asleep Prince in front of it.
"What do you want Logan?""Your father wants you to have breakfast with him in ten minutes."
Roman laughed.
"That's a first."
He said as he walked back into his room, leaving the door to close on his friend who subsequently opened it again himself."Roman I do not understand why you constantly take everything your father does as reasons why he doesn't like you."
Roman rolled his eyes.
"Come on Logan. For someone so smart I would have thought it was obvious. It's like the sight of me makes him angry and he only ever wants to eat with me if he wants to tell me off about something.""I don't think so. He most likely just wants what is best for you and is going about that in a manner that you are assuming means that he is angry."
The prince didn't seem to even be listening anymore as he looked out his window.
The sky was almost completely clear with the exception of a few, small clouds in the distance. He could see the whole city below him. Green hills that had become home to deer, rabbits and birds with their nests in the many trees were just behind the houses and a rainbow was just visible on the horizon.
The smile that the view gave him didn't last long as he started thinking about his father again.
"I'm just a disappointment to him."Logan sighed again as he started walking out the door.
"I'll leave you to change."***
Roman watched his father as they both started eating. Neither of them had said a word, causing an awkward silence to fill the room. Until the King finally started talking.
"I heard that you were out of the castle grounds late last night."
"Yes. And?"
"And your only friends seem to be that worryingly naive chef and your know-it-all advisor. These are not the sort of people a Prince should befriend."Roman tried to hold back a glare.
"I prefer their company more then anyone's of a higher status.""You are the heir to the throne, Roman. You can not decide these things yourself. What will the other Kingdoms think of us when they hear of the Prince with no real friends and that needs taken back home like a toddler when he gets lost in the dark?"
He asked, his voice becoming louder, which was returned with a louder voice yet from Roman."Patton and Logan are real friends to me and I don't care what anyone else's opinions are! At least if they knew they would have told me about the Dark Kingdom."
With those words, the kings eyes widened and he stood up.
"I don't care where you found out about that place but you are not allowed to talk about it here. Now go to your room and don't even think about leaving the castle grounds any time soon!'Roman left to his room as quickly as possible and locked the door.
