Logan and Patton walked down the corridor towards Roman's room. The only light was coming from the candle that Patton was holding. They were told that they weren't allowed to visit Roman so they decided that they would have to go see him at night when most people were asleep.
Although Patton had never been in the prince's room, he could tell which one it was by the slightly over-dramatic singing coming from inside.
Logan took out a key from his pocket, the metal reflected the flickering light from the candle. He put it in the lock and started turning it as quietly as he could. Logan wasn't quite sure why he was trying to be so quiet given the fact that they could both start shouting as loud as they could and probably no one would be able to hear them over Roman's singing, but being silent felt right for sneaking about at night.
Patton opened the door and they both walked in. Roman was sitting on his windowsill, looking the opposite direction to them. He had his knees up to his chest and he was still completely oblivious to his two friends standing right behind him.
As Logan closed the door behind him, Patton started slowly walking up to Roman and tapped him on the shoulder in the hope that he would turn around, which he did, just while screaming his head off.
Roman stopped when he realized who it was and he heard footsteps rushing down the corridor.
They all started to panic and tried to find a place to hide. Logan behind the desk, Patton under the bed and Roman in the wardrobe, then Logan looked at Roman like he was stupid and he realized that he didn't need to hide because it was his room and he was supposed to be there. He quickly hopped out just as the door opened with a guard running into the room.
Roman and the guard just stared at each other for a few seconds, the guard becoming very confused.
"Prince Roman, why were you screaming? I see no danger..."
Roman's eyes widened as he started trying to think up an excuse.
"There was a... Dragon witch!"
His voice cracked a bit. He could see Logan Facepalm out of the corner of his eye."Prince, there's no such thing as dragon witches."
Roman nodded.
"Well... Now that I think about it, it could have just been a bat... really close up..."
He said, really trying his best. The guard raised and eyebrow but started to leave anyway, contemplating her life choices.
As soon as the guard had closed the door and her footsteps had almost completely disappeared, Patton and Logan both got out of their hiding places.
"A dragon witch? Really? For someone that prides themselve on being creative that was a very poor excuse."
Logan said as he walked over to Roman.Roman scratched the back of his neck.
"Yes... But dragon witches are at least interesting... Their dragons... with magical powers..."Logan facepalmed again.
"And their not real."Roman shrugged.
"Yeah I was hoping we wouldn't focus on that. Anyway..."
He said, trying to change the subject.
"I need you two to help me find out about something."
"What is it?"
"The Dark Kingdom."
