The morning was cold and the sky was learned with heavy rain clouds, but nothing could diminish Kinsey and Aldwin's spirits. They'd taken a trip to the city of Ferven to meet up with the priest that Aldwin knew and they had him marry them as soon as possible. The trip back to the valley was slower than the trip to Ferven since both of their lusts for each other were heightened by their new bondage and so both became highly aroused very easily. Basically it was a short, but amazing trip for them.
As soon as they'd arrived home, they'd began constructing a proper home structure using the cave and a lot of spare wood that Aldwin chopped down in dragon form. They fashioned a huge curtain of ivy and branches to form a stiff and insulating curtain over the cave entrance. A huge bed of blankets and pillows was placed at the top most part of the cave and it was surrounded by a curtain of silk that Aldwin had purchased with money he'd gambled for.
That was the way he supported the construction. He'd save a small amount of money and slowly build it up with his gambling techniques. Once he had enough, he'd spend just a portion and use the small amount left to gamble and bet.
Slowly, their home took shape and the valley became even more of an oasis to them. As time passed, Kinsey's belly slowly began to stretch and burgeon with their unborn child. She gave it the nickname Egg, but Aldwin was always referring to it as Bun. Despite the pregnancy nicknames, choosing an actual name was tough. Kinsey was stuck on either Gypsa or Sapphire for a girl and for a boy, she love the name Irving. Aldwin had narrowed down his names to one female name and one boy name. Gypsa for girl and Drake for boy. They both agreed on Gypsa if it was a girl and it was met with much agreement from their thought dragons.
When the ninth month had arrived and the baby was nearing the due date, Aldwin became antsy. Every morning, he'd wake up and begin pacing, mumbling about God knows what for God knows how long. Kinsey was exceptionally calm and was actually looking forward.to the due date, but Aldwin could not settle. Sometimes it would sound almost as if Ceruleo were speaking for him, but she didn't believe it at first. Then Iris revealed to her why.
As Kinsey watched Aldwin pace off to the side, Iris spoke up. "It's normal for male dragons to do this when a female is approaching her date. Ceruleo's antsyness is showing through Aldwin. Don't worry. He'll calm down on the day of the birth to help you. I promise."
Kinsey nodded and sighed, walking over to her husband and hugged him, interrupting his thoughts. He hugged her back and took deep breaths of her hair, rubbing her back and cradling her belly between them. "I love you."
"I love you too. And I know you love Egg too."
"He's called Bun."
"It could be a she."
"Then we'll name her Gypsa."
Kinsey laughed and kissed his chin. "I'm leaning towards Drake now as the boy name. It refers to dragons and so I feel it's a good choice."
Aldwin smiled and for a moment, all was right. Then the moment was ruptured by the feeling in her womb. She moaned quietly and grabbed his arm. He gasped and held her by her sides. "Are you okay? What's wrong? Is it today?"
She panted and nodded, pointing at the bed up at the top of the ledges. "Get me to the bed before if can't climb the ledges."
He nodded and actually picked me up gently, carrying me up to the bed. He laid me out and knelt beside me, a look of helplessness on his face. "What do I do? I need to do something."
Kinsey smiled and rubbed his arm. "Just stay close. I've read about pregnancy before. It'll be okay."
A short while passed and the contractions she was feeling began to feel unbearable. She squealed and tried to push faster, attempting to get it over and done with, but there seemed to be no end to the pain in sight. Tears sprouted on her lashes and she buried her nails in the blankets of their bed. "Aldwin! It hurts!"
Instead of panicking with her, he calmed considerably and took her hand, squeezing as he laid down beside her. "It's alright. Just stay calm and keep pushing." She nodded and as time slowly passed, she felt that they're progressing. In a little less then an hour, she felt sudden release and a gentle wailing filled the room.
Aldwin gasped and sat up, reaching over and getting a blanket off to the side. He reached down and picked up the baby, wrapping it in the blanket before laughing ad bringing it up to her arms. "A boy."
Kinsey laughed and joyfully took her baby in her arms. He had fluffy black hair and his face reminded her of, not Aldwin, but Cedric. The babe gave a tiny whimper and Kinsey let her baby feed. Aldwin watched in fascination from the side. "So...Drake?"
Kinsey smiled and nodded. "Yeah. I like that name. Can his middle name be Cedric?"
Aldwin smiled and nodded. "Yeah. We'll take him somewhere later on to have an actual birth certificate made."
He knelt closer to her and studied their son with gentle happy eyes. "He's adorable."
"Yes. He is." Over their mindscape came the voice of Ceruleo.
"He reminds me of Kinsey and I see potential for Aldwin to appear in him."
Kinsey smiled and shrugged. "What about you Iris?"
The lovely dragons voice came through her mind and more joy rushed through Kinsey's veins. "He's perfect. I simply love him!"
Kinsey laughed and pulled Drake from her breasts before wrapping him tighter in the blanket. She glanced at Aldwin and smiled, handing him the delicate bundle. "Here. Your turn."
Complete admiration and delight crossed his face and he eagerly tucked his arms under the babe. "Hey there little guy. Welcome to the world."
Kinsey laughed and took a deep breath as the brunt of her endeavor weighed down on her. "Okay. I think it's time for a little nap before he begs for food again."
They laid down and fell into a light sleep, both ready for when their son would awake. Little did they know that beyond the forest they lived in, Audrey was living a similar fate.
