I stood, my arms wrapped tightly around Finns shirtless body, crying harder than I'd ever cried before.

Suddenly I heard a voice behind me. "Y/n?!" It was Noah. "OH MY GOD Y/N YOU'RE OKAY!" Finn released me as Noah ran to us, and in a moment I was tightly embraced by Noah. "YOU SCARED ME! I WAS SO WORRIED, I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO LOSE YOU!"

I smiled weakly and wiped my cheek. "I-Im okay."

Like clockwork, Finn and I were surrounded by everyone else. Iris pulled me away from the crowd and whispered through her tears, "You scared me so much!"

I hugged her and cried. "I'm so sorry. Im so, so sorry. But it's okay now. Im okay. Finns okay."

Iris looked at me, confused. "Since when have you cared about Finn?"

I shrugged. "Since he showed me the real Finn."

As if on cue, I heard Finn calling me. "Hey, Y/n!" He placed a hand on my shoulder. "Are you okay? You looked pretty bad in there."

I smiled at him. "Thank you. And, I really truly am sorry about... well, everything."

Finn put his hands in his pockets. "About that... you wanna talk?"

'Oh no... what if he doesn't forgive me?'

"Uh, yeah, sure!" I said, nodding. I mouthed, 'I'll be back' to Iris and followed Finn to the waters edge. As we passed the fire, I realized the fire department had come and there wasn't really a fire anymore.

Finn grabbed a large green towel and wrapped it around his shoulders, almost as if he was self conscious. I laughed. He looked at me anxiously. "What?"

I smiled. "It's nothing. Just... one minute I hate you and the next I'm calmly walking the beach with you."

Finn shrugged. "Times change, I guess."

I sat by the water and stared out across it as the sky grew darker. The wind blowing off the water blew back my hair. "What happened between us?"

He shrugged. "I don't know. You tell me."

I felt a snarky comment coming, but I forced it down. "Well... let's go back to the beginning. June of 2019." I paused awkwardly. "I had such a huge fan crush on you, and I was so excited to meet you... but then you seemed so annoyed and I thought you hated me and I guess that really hurt me." I made a sour face. "Stupid, I know."

Finn shrugged. "No its not. To be honest, if I was you, I'd be mad too."

I sighed and continued. "It was just.... I liked you so much and you acted like you didn't care... and that crushed me! And then when we met again... three days ago... I saw you as someone who hated me and it was like picking at a scab; all that hurt just came back. I was just so stuck on that, and the next thing I knew, we were arguing and I was so mad and I couldn't stop..."

Finn smiled and wrapped the towel around both of our shoulders, which brought us close enough that our arms barely touched. "I have some explaining to do too. I shouldn't have treated you so different. I shouldn't have been rude. But the reason why I was is because... I saw you kiss Noah."

'What?'

I felt startled. "What? How? What does our kiss have to do with this?"

"Uh... you know, at Stranger Con? You didn't know him and you literally just kissed him." He acted like it was obvious.

"I-I didn't kiss him at Stranger Con," I mumbled, looking at him in confusion.

Finn narrowed his eyes. "Yes you did."

And then it hit me.

Megan kissed Noah at Stranger Con. And me and Megan did look similar. I sighed and shook my head.

'Oh, god, what have I gotten myself into?'

I rubbed my temples. "I didn't. But my friend Megan did."

Finn made an 'o' with his mouth. I just sarcastically giggled and shook my head.

Finn sighed and rubbed his temples. "Oh, this makes it even worse. You see, I thought it was you and I was shocked that you would disrespect his personal space like that when you didn't even know him. And then I guess I let it get to me and well... you know the rest."

I shook my head in shock. "So this was all just one big misunderstanding... all this stress for literally nothing, " I whispered.

Finn nodded, but suddenly stopped and looked at me. "Wait. When I asked about the kiss, you mentioned 'your kiss.' You asked what this had to do with 'your kiss.. ' did you kiss Noah?"

I froze and looked at him like a deer in headlights. "Uh..."

Finn scoffed. "You did. You kissed Noah." He stood up and let the towel fall off his shoulders. "I thought you said you were best friends?"

I stood up too and flipped the towel over my shoulder. "We are! But you heard what he said yesterday at the sock shop!"

Finn threw his hands in the air. "He said he liked you as more than a friend, not that he wanted to kiss you!"

I rolled my eyes.

'I can't believe this boy.'

"Well, we apologized to each other this morning and then he kissed me, okay?!"

Finn suddenly held his hands out in front of him. "Stop, stop, okay? See, we're arguing over something stupid. I only asked because I was confused. I just... didnt want more drama in the friend group."

I cocked my head to the side. "Drama?"

Finn leaned closer to me till his mouth was by my ear. "Don't tell anyone, but I think Millie likes Noah. And if she found out you kissed... all hell breaks loose."

I backed away and nodded. "Okay." I then handed him the towel and turned to leave. "Uh... bye."

Finn took the towel and watched ne leave, but a moment later I heard footsteps following me. "Hey, wait!" He called.

I turned. "Yeah?"

"We were so busy arguing for the past few days when you were getting to know everyone else. I know pretty much nothing about you, and if we're gonna be in the same friend group now, then that's gonna be awkward. So... wanna get together tomorrow to catch up on all the getting to know each other we missed?" He asked, stuffing his hands in his pockets.

I smiled and nodded. "Sure." I then grabbed a nearby napkin and a pen and wrote my number on it. I handed it to Finn. "Text me with the details."

He took it and nodded, a smile plastered across his face. "See ya."

I nodded and skipped off, calling a "See ya!" in return over my shoulder.
