THREE DAYS LATER
June 11th 2019
It had been three days since Natasha told me about Stranger Con, but me being me was too scared to ask because I was afraid of the answer.
I really just didn't want to get my hopes up only to be disappointed.
'There's still a chance the answer will be yes.'
As much as I wanted to ignore that thought since I basically knew it wasn't true, I gave in. I forced myself to my feet and down the hall to the kitchen, where my mother sat at the table.
I took a breath in an attempt to push my nerves down and began speaking.
"Hey mom... so I have something I was wondering about..," I started.
She looked up at me. "Yes?"
I swallowed the lump in my throat and began speaking. "So... Natasha told me about a Stranger Con soon... the stranger things cast is coming to Denver and I was wondering.." My nerves suddenly silenced me.
I could feel my nerves growing stronger so I closed my eyes and quickly said, "And I basically really want to go so..." I opened my eyes. "Can I?"
Silence.
She raised an eyebrow.
"How much does this cost?" She asked, leaning back in her chair and folding her arms.
I stammered. "Uh..."
'So this is where it all goes downhill..'
"180 dollars a ticket, " I forced out.
"Oh dear," was all she said, which seriously concerned me.
"Uh... so can I go?" I asked at last. But who was I kidding, I already knew the answer.
"Listen, Y/n, as much as I would like to let you go, that's kind of expensive and is it even really worth it?" She said at last.
I stared at her as if she was crazy. "Mom, this is the STRANGER THINGS CAST we're talking about! Of course it's worth it!" I could feel my fear swelling into frustration.
