20 | Exposed

The sound of glass breaking had Eunjae awake within seconds. She shot up from her bed looking at her phone. Someone was inside the house.

She saw the shadow of someone in the kitchen the lights were off giving her a limited view , they seemed to be stumbling around the kitchen. She could see shards of glass reflecting from the moonlight a window must be open . She thought before grabbing her pistol in her bedside table and a flashlight.

She took subtle steps crouched down walking down the stairs seeing that everyone's room doors are closed. Eunjae stalked through the hallway trying to keep quiet. Holding her pistol out and her flashlight in the other hand crossed over she turned the corner switching the flashlight on catching the person at gunpoint.

"Donghyuck?!"

"Eunjae?!"

Donghyuck was in the kitchen , he quickly put his hands up a reflex considering he was held at gunpoint allowing the blood on his hands to run down his arm, He cringed as the light blinded him slightly.

"What the fuck happened to you?"
Eunjae said turning the light switch on putting the pistol in the back of her Pajama pants placing the flash light on the counter and nearing the boy,

"No! Don't! watch out , I came down to get some water and accidentally dropped a glass , there's glass everywhere, I was trying to clean it up and I cut myself"
Donghyuck warned her , Eunjae stopped when she felt a piece of glass scratch her foot , not enough to draw blood.

"Don't t move Donghyuck, Be careful next time"
Eunjae said before grabbing the broom and dust pan.

Eunji's POV

I managed to clean up all the glass and get Donghyuck to sit on one of the stools in the kitchen. I was cleaning up his bleeding hand trying to see how bad his injury is.

"It's nothing but a flesh wound , So you're good"
I said wrapping a bandage around his hand . I used a safety pin to hold it together tightly and I went to wash his blood off my hands, drying them on my shirt.

"Eunjae?" Donghyuck asked , the curiosity in his voice gave me some type of clue he was going to ask about the weapon I had on me.

"Yes Donghyuck?" I said rinsing my fingers off again, trying to occupy myself so I didn't have to face him.

"Why do you own a gun?" He said making my assumption correct.

I stopped what I was doing , trying to come up with a reason I could have a gun ,I could say I use it for self defence?

"I wouldn't take you as the person to own a gun for self defence, any person who did have it for that reason would have shot me already , which by the way , I almost shat myself thank you very much" Donghyuck said reading my mind and using a matter of factory tone . I snorted at his ending comment before turning around.

"And , judging by the way you knew the cop yesterday at the police station , I'm assuming it has something to do with that and also has something to do with the reason why I see the security cameras everywhere around this house and why you had footage to the hotel a couple weeks back." Donghyuck said sitting up in his chair recalling all these moments, while I turned around.
