Surprise (Derek)

Derek slowly got up from his seat and walked out of the plane with a sad look on his face. Even though they eventually caught the unsub, the victims who were saved had all died from their injuries, and he felt a hole in his heart form. He drove as fast as he could because you were the only cure for his pain. When he got there, he was surprised to not see you asleep on the couch. He started to look for you when he noticed a piece of paper. He looked at it, and he saw an arrow pointing upstairs. He walked upstairs and saw another piece of paper with another arrow on it, but this time, it was on your bedroom door. He cracked a sly smile and went into the bedroom. "Hi." you greeted.

"Well hello, Miss Thang! You're certainly a sight for these sore eyes." Derek greeted back. "That's great!" you replied as you walked up and kissed him. "Sit over here." you instructed as your surprise got underway. "What's goin' on?" Derek asked confused. "You'll see in a minute." you answered as you headed to the bathroom. Derek raised his eyebrows. You scurried to find the right stuff to put your "mystery box" in. You made sure everything was put in order before making your way back into the bedroom. "I'm back!" you greeted cheerfully. Derek made a slight scowl at the bag you were holding.

"Why would you bring a present out of the bathroom?" he asked. "Just open it!" you answered. Derek opened the bag and got out the "mystery box". Your heart couldn't contain the excitement when he did. "Are you tryin' to trick me or somethin'? Because it ain't workin'." Derek cornered. "Just open it up!" you exclaimed with joy. Derek opened the box, and what he saw took his breath away. Inside the box was a pregnancy test and an old gender neutral onesie you had when you were a baby. Derek looked up with the biggest smile you've ever seen him smile.

"Are you for real?!?" he asked. "Yes!" you answered tearfully. Derek got up and twirled you around. "WE'RE HAVIN' A BABY!!!" he yelled as he continued to twirl you around. At this very moment, Derek forgot all about the pain and sorrow from the case as it was all replaced by joy and happiness from this new life about to enter the world. You both later welcomed the new bundle of joy on Derek's birthday. From that point on, Derek thought of the baby's arrival as the best birthday present of all time.
