"I don't wanna go!" Sky whined, pulling her mother away from the door. "I'm sorry sweetie, but I have to go for work, you will only be there for a hour!" Her mother proclaimed, grabbing her hand and pulling her out. Her mother usually only worked when Sky was at school, but one of her coworkers quit, so she had to work extra hours for the day. "Take me to grandmas, school, cemetery, just anywhere but father!" Sky screeched, clinging onto the door. Her mother sighed and picked Sky up in her arms. She carried her to the car and strapped her in back. Sky cried softly. Her father was a abusive man, his evil charms is what won his mother and she hasn't even thought about leaving him. She knew that he abused Sky, but there was no way she could stop him, one wrong word and Sky's mother would be dead.
As they drove up to her fathers house, the car came to a stop as the engine turned off. It was a two story black house, the windows were boarded up, preventing any sunlight to get in and the wilted flowers hung to the ground, there sharp dead leaves scraping the grass. Sky's mother picked her up and carried her to the door, knocking on it with her free hand. A tall man with messy brown hair opened the door, his black and violet eyes starred at Sky's mother. He looked at her and his gaze went to Sky. He smiled. "Hello my Dreaded hatchet." He purred, pulling Sky away from her mother. Sky grabbed the air trying to reach her mother, and she starred back at Sky with pity.
He kicked the door shut and dropped Sky onto the ground. He pointed outside and Sky obaide, walking out the door to the backyard. A nest with small baby birds sat in one of the trees, and Skys father looked up at it smiling. "Do it." He growled, looking down at Sky. She shook her head, averting her gaze from her father. She could feel his eyes on her, and she turned her head to see his burning red eyes. "Do it." He snarled, the cross on his hand glowed. Sky shook her head again, glancing at the small birds.
Her father grabbed Sky by the neck, lifting her into the air. She hit his hands and the cross only grew brighter, burning her with every passing second. "What did I say about disobeying me?" He snarled, squeezing her neck tighter until she couldn't breath. "Disobey and die." She whined, gasping for air. He smiled and dropped her, making her fall onto her knees. "Now do it." He growled, pulling her up. Sky balled up her fist, and a hatchet formed in her hand, a cross burned into its side. She threw the hatchet, and the baby birds fell out of the nest, there heads decapitated. The hatchet disappeared into a black smoke and a new one formed in Sky's hand.
Sky unraveled her fist and the hatchet disappeared, she looked down at the birds sadly. Her father smiled at her. "Good job my Dreaded hatchet," he cooed. "Now, go eat your lunch." He walked inside and Sky walked over to the baby birds. She picked one of them up and held the body to her mouth. She bit into it, the moist blood drained down her neck filling her hunger. Sky sighed, this was her life.
