After a long wait of awkward glances from Mr. Roads, Carrie was finally able to leave for lunch. She got the usual salad with a apple, and Toby was stuffing her face with a hamburger while Sky was simply having a sandwich. Carrie averted her gaze from the two of them, feeling there eyes bore into her head. "Are you okay?" Toby asked through a mouthful of food, barely understandable. "She isn't with you spitting hamburger on her face." Sky retorted playfully. Toby shrugged and took another bite, shoving most of it in her mouth. "God Toby your going to have a heartattack!" Carrie commented, patting Toby on the back as she started to choke.

"And something is wrong." Carrie said, letting out a sigh when Toby was finally able to swallow her food. Sky and Toby looked at Carrie with interest. She explained the things she saw when she looked at Mr. Roads. When she was done, Sky and Toby exchanged slide glances and Carrie looked at them with curiosity. Sky finally looked back at Carrie, her eyes showed she was worried but relieved. "We saw it to." She said, getting straight to the point. "I thought I was just going crazy, but when Toby told me she saw it too..." Sky trailed off, unsure of what to say.

"Is that what you saw in Shane?" Toby asked while Sky stared blankly at her food tray. Carrie nodded sighing. What will Shane do if he sees me? Carrie thought, thinking the worst. Will he give me a bad reputation? Will he beat me like this either girls? Or will he just forgive and forget? Carrie rolled her eyes at the thought of Shane forgiving anyone. He was just another player who roamed the schools hallways, using girls and then throwing them out. Toby and Sky were chatting quitly, giving Carrie her free time to think. She was thankful that they were such good friends, other girls would be scared of her intimidation, but Sky and Toby seemed perfectly comfortable with her, and equally intimidating.

The school bell ring and the girls picked up there belongings sluggishly, carrying the heavy book bags into social studies. As Carrie stepped into room, she stared in fear at the man sitting in the front row. Carrie remembered with a ping of fear that Shane was in her class, and she scanned his body for any sign that he had seen her as well. Shane's hair was messy from him rolling on the ground, and he had a icepack sitting on his lap where Carrie had kneed him. Yet still, most of the girls stared at him in awe and dumbfounded, although a few girls with sense glanced at him in disgust.
Carrie crept past him, hugging the wall as she went to the back row and sat next to Toby and Sky. "I forgot Shane was in this class." She said quietly and urgently. Toby held back a chuckle and Sky rolled her eyes. "You can be a real idiot, you know that?" Sky said playfully. Carrie narrowed her eyes and a flick of red formed in them, but she blinked her eyes banishing it before Sky could notice. "This is serious," Carrie said, keeping a stern look and her voice flat. "I don't want to run into him in the hallway."

Toby smiled devishly, tapping her fingers like she did whenever she had come up with a plan. Sky and Carrie turned to her, waiting patiently as Toby had her fun with her evil moment. After what seemed like ages, Toby finally spoke up. "Then don't run into him in the hallway." Toby said simply, still tapping her fingers. Sky and Carrie frowned but Toby went on before they could interrupt. "Just let me work my magic." Carrie sighed and shrugged her shoulders as Sky opened her mouth to protest, but a women's voice interrupted her before she could.

"Hello everyone my name is Mrs. Lucy, I am your substitute teacher while your teacher is out." Mrs. Lucy started, smiling at each of the students. "Now, I am a very patient women and I have been teaching for twenty years, so I know all of your tricks. Your teacher, Mr. Moon is it? Yes, he has left me a note of all the work we will be doing. And, if you complete all the work, I will give you a piece of chewing-gum, but you must through it away at the end of class. I'm sure we will get along just fine as long as you follow my rules. I will be here for either a week or a month, Mr. Moon is having some important family business so I am not sure and neither is he. Now that we have everything settled, I will be doing role call." She went on calling out ever students name, and in return they stuck there hands in the air.

Mrs. Lucy was wearing a black dress with white stripes, and her grey hair was up in a messy bun. She was wearing black glasses making her green eyes look bigger. She set down a small handbag onto the counter and sat on the table, crossing her legs and smiling at the students. "Carrie?" Mrs. Lucy called her name and Carries attention went to her substitute. "Carrie, will you pass out the papers?" Mrs, Lucy asked, smiling sweetly at Carrie. Carrie smiled back as she stood up, walking over and grabbing a packet of papers from her.

Carrie handed each of the students there packets until she came to Shane. Shane was starring up at her, surprised to see her in his class. He must have forgot I was here. Carrie thought, feeling slightly happy that she wasn't the only one who forgot. Carrie clumsily tossed the paper on his desk, going on to the others she heard Shane whisper to his friend, "What a crazy chick." Carrie gritted her teeth and clenched the paper, wrinkling it as she was about to walk to the next row. Red burned in Carries eyes, but Mrs. Lucy spoke up before Carrie could do anything crazy. "That's quite enough Mr. Sanders!" She said, reaching into her desk and pulling out a red packet. She used a pen and scribbled on the paper, pulled off the note, and handed it to Shane. "I will be seeing you in detention after school, and if you don't come then you will be suspended, do I make myself clear?" Shane opened his mouth to protest but Mrs. Lucy narrowed her eyes, and Shane hung his head in defeat, averting his gaze from hers. "Yes ma'am." He muttered lazily. Mrs. Lucy smiled and sat on the chair, giving Carrie a warm smile.

Carrie passed out the rest of the packets and sat back down, taking notes as Mrs. Lucy ranted on about World War II. Shane had stayed silent, mostly tapping his pen on the table rather then taking notes. Carrie smirked in her seat and the bell ringed, releasing everyone into the hallway. Toby, Sky, and Carrie were all still sitting at there seats, and they craned there necks to see Shane waiting patiently in the hallway. "So what's your plan?" Sky asked Toby, turning to look at her.
Toby smiled happily. "You'll see, just wait until I give you the signal." Carrie and Sky nodded, and watched as Toby walked over to Shane. Carrie saw as there mouths moved, chatting happily and flirting slightly. Toby glanced and Carrie, narrowing her eyes angrily. Carrie chuckled as Shane used his signature pose, and he leaned against a locker smirking at Toby. Toby snapped her finger and Carrie and Sky came running out of the door. Carrie turned her head to see Shane calling her in anger, but then looking back at Toby. Toby smiled and Carrie barely caught her say, "Sorry, I forgot how ugly you were!" Before running off after them. The three of them giggled frantically, laughing at Shane's fave after Toby and told him off.

As the three of them were outside of the school, panting for air from the long run, Carrie realized happily that they were close to Sky's house. They walked into the cottage, looking around the empty room as Sky called hello to her mother. The cottage looked the same as Carries, both a equal distance away from there fathers, and both barely big enough to hold one person, let alone two. "Where is she?" Sky muttered to herself, searching all the rooms. Carrie and Toby sat down on the couch, stretching there legs and leaning back on the warm cushions. "Where do you think her mom is?" Toby asked, staring at the ceiling. Carrie shrugged, not taking her eyes off the ceiling and watching as small birds scattered on the wood.

A loud screech echoed through the cottage and Toby and Carrie jumped up, running for Sky. "What happened?" Carrie asked, standing next to Sky and watching her carefully. Sky pointed down with a shaky hand and Carrie followed her gaze. She covered her mouth with both hands as she stared down at the limp body. It was a women, chocolate skin like Sky and the lady had long curly hair. Carrie could smell the evil magic in the air but ignored it. The women was laying on her back, a huge gash in her stomach. It looked like something had cut her open, not any normal gun or knife, but something much stronger.

Sky wrapped her arms around Carrie and Carrie pat her back. "It's okay, we can stay at Toby's house, alright? Everything will be ok." Carrie cooed Sky, still patting her back. Sky nodded and let go of Carrie, forcing a smile. Carrie smiled back and Sky picked up a small picture of her and her mother before the three of them left for Toby's house.
