"So, I guess this is it" said Sara quietly.
Her and Sirius were sat on the floor, beside each other, in Flitwick's office, waiting for a fate that some said was worse than death.
"It's hard to tell if we succeeded or failed. Harry knows the truth, and Peter can't hurt him now. But the rat got away" continued Sara.
"If we had just killed Peter. Then this would have been worth it. I would willingly give up my soul, to kill that traitor" admitted Sirius.
"Almost feels like we're losing our souls for nothing. Peter will be trying to find Voldemort by now, or whatever is left of Voldemort, you mark my words"
"Yes. The faithful servant will be at his post once more".

"After a year of waiting, our task is finally over. Which is good, as I was starting to get fed up of sitting in the Shrieking Shack all day" admitted Sara.
"I'm sorry I had to drag you into this. I should have come here alone, and let you live out the rest of your life, peacefully at the dragon sanctuary" apologised Sirius.
"What life? I'd been stuck as a dragon for years, losing my humanity. I'm glad you came to find me"
"Even if our journey ends tonight?"
"Yes. I would rather it ended tonight, with you at my side, than in 100 years time, by myself, with no memory of the person that I used to be... My life didn't really start until I met you, all of you. I was a nobody before I came to Hogwarts, and I'd never had a friend in my life. But the Marauders changed everything for me. You guys gave me something to live for"
"I'm glad we could help".

"When the Dementors were attacking us earlier, I kept having flashbacks, to our friends deaths. Particularly Marlene's death, and James and Lily's. Out of all my painful memories, those are the ones which were brought to life in that moment. I almost feel sorry for the Dementors, they feed off happy memories, so they aren't going to get much off of us. We both had such miserable childhoods" admitted Sara.
"Our adult lives weren't much better. We lost everyone we ever knew, during the war" reminded Sirius.
"Good point. The only time we were ever happy, was when we were teenagers, because we had the Marauders"
"Those happy memories were the only thing that kept me going in Azkaban"
"Well at least when you go back this time, you won't actually know what's going on, so you won't have to suffer".

"Yes... I'm glad that you are with me tonight Sara. So that I don't have to do this by myself" said Sirius quietly.
Sara laced her fingers through Sirius' and smiled.
"And I'm glad to be back by your side, once last time".
"Then, before we go, I would like to do something, that I should have done a long time ago" admitted Sirius.
"What's that?" Questioned Sara.
Sirius turned to face Sara, and placed his hands on her face, before kissing her firmly on the lips.
The kiss only lasted for a few seconds, but for the pair of them, it felt like much longer.

Once it was over, Sara jumped to her feet, and began pacing the room.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to- I just wanted to do it, as I know I'll never get another chance" apologised Sirius, as he too, stood to his feet.
Sara's brain was so full of thoughts, that she couldn't think straight.
When they were teenagers, Sara often said that Sirius was like a brother to her, because he used to tease and annoy her all the time.
But even she had to admit, that the Sirius with her now, was very different to the one she had known pre-Azkaban.
There was also the problem of her ex-fiancè Remus, who was their best friend.
Though the two hadn't been together in nearly 12 years, they had never gotten around to speaking, after the break up, since Sara had just walked out on him one night.

After deciding that the two of them would be pretty much dead, in the morning, Sara pushed Sirius into the wall, and began kissing him back.
This kiss lasted much longer than the first, and was much more passionate, since they were also wrapping their arms around each others bodies, making the most of the little time they had left.
"Are we interupting something?".
Sara and Sirius jumped apart, and looked out the window, to where the voice had come from.
Both of their jaws dropped when they saw Harry and Hermione flying outside the window, on a Hippogriff.
"Stand back!" Shouted Hermione.
Sara and Sirius obeyed, as Hermione pointed her wand at the window.
"Alohomora" she yelled, causing the window to spring open.

Sara ran back to the window, as Sirius began lifting her up, so that she could climb out and onto the Hippogriff. It was a very tight squeeze through the window frame, but she made it.
Sirius then pulled himself up and onto the winged creature, which really wasn't meant to carry four people, so they all had to hold on tightly, to stop themselves from falling off.
"O.K Buckbeak, up" encouraged Harry, forcing the Hippogriff up to the roof of the west tower, so that they could all dismount.
"You two had better go" said Harry sadly.
"What happened to the other boy, Ron?" Asked Sara.
"He's fine. But you really need to get going, the Dementors will be here soon"
"Alright. But you take care of yourself. It's also probably best that you don't mention what you just saw in that room, to anyone, especially Remus"
"I promise"
"Thanks".

Sara stepped forward, and hugged Harry tight, before letting go, and allowing Sirius to do the same.
"I know things didn't go the way we wanted, but we will be together again" promised Sirius.
"I hope so" replied Harry.
"I don't know how we can ever repay you, for the risk you have both made tonight" admitted Sara.
"Just, stay out of sight, and out of trouble, from now on, that's all I ask. Oh- You might need this, you dropped it by the lake" revealed Harry, as he handed Sara back her wand.
"Thank you Harry. Do I even want to know how you managed to get hold of it?"
"Probably not. Now go!".
Sara nodded and mounted the Hippogriff after Sirius.

"Goodbye Harry. Oh, and one last thing. You really are your fathers son" complimented Sirius.
Sara wrapped her arms around Sirius' waist, as he squeezed Buckbeak's sides with his heels.
The Hippogriff then flapped its enormous wings, before taking off into the air, and flying off into the distance, as the sun began to rise in the sky, signalling the start of a brand new day.
