There was caos the next morning, as all the students in the house, were busy packing and getting ready to leave.
Fred and George had caused even more commotion, by bewitching their trunks to fly down the stairs by themselves, but they had knocked Ginny and Sara on the way down. Luckily Sara had only been a few steps up, but Ginny had been thrown down 2 flights of stairs.
Even though Molly had patched Ginny up fine, she was fuming at her sons, and her shouts had woken up Sirius' mum, but no one had time to try and close her curtains. So the house was full of loud and angry voices.
One of Harry's guards, Sturgis Podmore, had also failed to turn up, and Moody was refusing to leave, one guard short.
Sara had offered to go, but she had been shut down pretty quickly. Especially as there wasn't an invisibilty cloak going spare, that she could use."Harry, you're to come with me and Tonks. Leave your trunk and your owl. Alastor's dealing with the luggage- Oh for heaven's sake, Sirius, Dumbledore said no" shouted Molly.
Sara rolled her eyes, and watched Sirius leap over the luggage in dog form.
Dumbledore had arrived late the night before, and told them that they were not allowed to accompany Harry to the train station. But after he'd left, Sirius had told Sara that he was going to go anyway, ignoring Dumbledore's instructions.
Sara had tried to persuade Sirius not to go, but her plees had fallen on deaf ears.
"Oh honestly... Well your own head be it" mumbled Molly, as she made her way towards the front door.
"Goodbye Harry. Don't forget to write to us" reminded Sara, as she hugged her godson goodbye.
"I won't" promised Harry.
Sara kissed the top of his head, and watched him walk out the door, with Sirius and Molly at his sides.Since Sara and Sirius had been trapped in Grimmauld Place for months, neither of them had been apart for such a long time. So having Sirius out walking the streets without her, was making Sara very anxious.
She had returned to her bedroom, and begun pacing around it nervously, as she waited for Sirius to return.
When she heard the front door open, she turned to face her bedroom door, until Sirius entered the room a few minutes later.
"There you are" said Sirius, with a huge grin on his face.
Sara frowned and folded her arms.
"That was very dangerous Sirius. What if someone had recognised you. There are Death Eaters walking free out there, you know, like the Malfoys".
"Relax, nothing bad happened" replied Sirius."Dumbledore is going to be furious when he finds out you disobayed his direct orders" admitted Sara.
"You let me deal with Dumbledore" insisted Sirius.
"Even if Dumbledore hadn't said anything to you, I still think you took too big of a risk"
"You're just jealous that you didn't get to go outside, and I did"
"No I'm not... O.K, maybe a little bit. Was it nice out there?"
"Beautiful"
"And what was it like being back on Platform 9 and 3/4 again?"
"Amazing... Although I have to admit it was strange being there without you and James"
"I bet it was".
Sirius made his way towards Sara, and wrapped his arms around her.
"Are you still angry at me for going?" He asked quietly, before kissing her neck.
"I'm furious... But I can understand why you did it. If I'd been in the same position, I probably would have done exactly the same thing" sighed Sara, as she turned around to look up at Sirius."It's going to be quiet here without the kids around" admitted Sirius, sadly.
"It won't be as quiet as you think. The Order will still be having its meetings here. And Molly, Bill, and Arthur still live here with us, so we aren't really alone" reminded Sara.
"I don't think they are going to stay long. I heard Arthur telling Molly, that it's time they went back to the Burrow, now that the kids are at Hogwarts"
"Well, we'll still be seeing them for the meetings, anyway"
"I know... But Harry-"
"Is at school where he belongs. And you shouldn't have made him feel guilty about going back, Padfoot"
"I didn't mean to. But having him here, with us, was great. It was exactly how it should have been. We were like a family again"
"And we still are a family. We will write to him every week, and he'll be home for Christmas. He hasn't got long left of school, so you'll just have to do be patient, and wait for him to finish properly in a few years time"."In the meantime. Now that the house is a bit emptier, me and you can have some good quailty alone time" continued Sara.
"Hmm, I like the sound of that" grinned Sirius, as his grip around Sara tightened.
Sara smiled, and lent towards Sirius, kissing him softly on the lips.
"Oh!".
Sara and Sirius released each other, and jumped apart, when they saw Remus standing in the doorway.
"Remus. I didn't see you there" gasped Sara, awkwardly, as her face began to turn red.
"Clearly. I guess this is why you didn't want to take my ring back. So much for the three of us staying friends, and not getting into any romantic relationships" replied Remus coldly.
"I can explain-"
"Don't bother"."Remus, mate, don't take this all out on Sara" begged Sirius.
"So quick to jump to her defence. How sweet" mocked Remus.
"Hey, don't talk about her like that. Besides, she is not your property Moony, and she can date who she likes" snapped Sirius.
"Well, care to tell me how long this has been going on for? I expect you got together during the war, and the real reason she left me all those years ago, was because she were upset that her real lover was in Azkaban" spat Remus.
"What! How can you even think that? How can you think that I would ever cheat on you? We didn't tell you that we were together, because we didn't want to hurt your feelings, or make you feel uncomfortable. But if you must know, me and Sirius didn't get together until that night when Peter escaped, and we nearly got Kissed by Dementors. And at that point, me and you were not together. I can't believe you thought that I was seeing him behind your back. How could you even think that I would do such a thing?" Sobbed Sara."Well what was I supposed to think, when I walked in and saw you in his arms?" Questioned Remus.
"Me and you are not in a relationship Remus. We haven't been together in 14 years, so whoever I date now, is of no concern of yours. I know Sirius is your best friend, and I'm your ex, so asking you to be happy for us, is out of the question. But the fact that when you saw us together, your first thought was that I must have been cheating on you, all those years ago, is heartbreaking. How can you think that I would ever do that to you?" Sara cried.
"Sara I-"
"Don't just don't".Sirius rested his hand onto her shoulder, but she shook him off, and stormed out of the room.
Since she couldn't leave the house, Sara made her way upstairs, to Sirius' mothers room, where Buckbeak was being kept.
She slammed the door shut behind her, upsetting the Hippogriff, but since he recognised her, he didn't attack.
After taking a deep breath, Sara rested her back against the wall, and slid down until she reached the floor. She then rested her arms on top of her legs, and placed her head on them.
Tears streamed down her face, as she thought about the way Remus had looked at her, when he saw her with Sirius.
She had known that he wasn't going to be pleased with that her and Remus were together, but for him to think that she had cheated on him, made her feel like a terrible person.A knock on the door, brought Sara's attention back to the present.
"Sara, are you in there? Can I come in?" Asked Sirius.
Sara didn't reply, but Sirius pushed the door open, and walked in anyway.
"Remus has gone" revealed Sirius, as he sat down by her side.
"How angry was he, before he left?" Asked Sara quietly.
"I think he was more upset than anything, particularly with himself, and the way he had handled the situation" answered Sirius.
"I didn't want him to find out like that"
"No. It probably wasn't the best way for him to find out that we are together"
"Did he say anything, after I walked out?"
"Just that he was sorry, and that he needed to process everything alone, before he comes back"."He's never going to want to talk to me ever again" sniffed Sara.
Sirius placed his arm around her shoulders.
"Of course he will. He's our friend, and the nicest one out of all of the Marauders, if I'm being honest. He's also the most likely to forgive, and get over something like this" replied Sirius.
"I hope you're right. I don't know how I'd cope if he never spoke to me again"
"Like I said, he'll get over it. We just need to give him time"
"I just can't get over the way he looked at me-"
"Hey, don't think about it. He was upset, he didn't mean to hurt your feelings"."At least he does know the truth about us now, and we don't have to hide this behind his back, anymore... I just hope that he will forgive me" whispered Sara.
"There's really nothing to forgive. You haven't committed any crimes" reminded Sirius.
"It doesn't feel like that"
"Well lets go and get some lunch, to cheer you up".
Sara allowed Sirius to help her up, and take her down to the kitchen, for something to eat. Food often did improve her mood, since she had spent so long without any decent meals, while they had been on the run.
But this time she didn't think that food, was going to have the effect that she wanted.
