Sara and Sirius' warnings to Harry, seemed to fall on deaf ears, as less than 2 weeks after they met him Hogsmeade, they recieved a very worrying letter from their godson. And Sara had to do everything she could, to stop Sirius charging into Hogwarts, to confront Harry in person.
"At least let me write him a howler then. The kid needs to know that what he did was reckless and stupid" snapped Sirius, as he paced back and forth inside the cave.
Buckbeak had gone hunting, which was good, since Sara and Sirius were in the middle of a loud argument, which would have upset the animal.
"Don't be stupid. You can't have your voice being projected through the Great Hall. You're a wanted criminal remember" shouted Sara.
"But Harry-"
"Is a kid, and he made a mistake" interupted Sara.

"He was wandering around the forest, with a swarn enemy. What was he thinking?" Questioned Sirius, throwing his arms in the air.
"Krum is a student, so I don't think Harry sees him as an enemy, even if they are competing against each other" admitted Sara.
"But he's one of Karkaroff's students, and we've already warned Harry that he is an ex Death Eater, who teaches his students the Dark Arts. So that Krum boy-"
"Is still a student".
Sirius scoffed.
"He's in his last year of education, so he's not exactly a child, and he has already got a job as a professional Quidditch player".
"Exactly, he's a famous Quidditch player. Girls adore him, so he's not exactly going to attack Harry Potter in front of everyone, is he? And Hermione Granger went to the Yule ball with him, so he must be a good kid. Which is why Harry trusts him" replied Sara.

"Alright, even if we take the Krum boy out of the equation, Harry still took a risk. He was walking around the school grounds, after dark, without Ron and Hermione or any teachers" reminded Sirius.
"He's a kid, trying to have fun at school, just like we used to do" sighed Sara.
"Except we didn't have a price on our heads back then. We didn't have our names placed in a Goblet Fire. And we didn't have Death Eaters trying to kill us. At least when we were students. Harry can't be like us, he needs to be careful"
"I know. But teens don't like being careful. And Harry isn't a normal teenager. His dad was a Marauder, and so are his godparents. So I expect that he wants to prove himself. Not just to his friends, but to us"
"So this is our fault? For being too reckless around him, and telling him what we used to get up to when we were his age... Are we a bad influence on him?"
"Probably... But it's too late to change what's happened".

"I guess that's true... What do you think about what happened with Barty Crouch then? Harry said he was acting crazy, and he disappeared when Harry went to get help, leaving Krum Stunned on the floor. Do you think Crouch Stunned the kid?" Asked Sirius.
"I don't know. The whole thing is very confusing. There was nothing about it in the paper, which is probably a good thing, since Skeeter would only twist the truth anyway... Harry said that Crouch mentioned Bertha, Voldemort, and his son. None of which is very reassuring" admitted Sara.
"You didn't answer my question. Do you think he attacked Krum?"
"No. I don't think so. Stunning Krum wouldn't help him in any way"
"Well it would allow him to escape"
"Why would he need to escape? He came here of his own free will, no one made him come to Hogwarts"
"Which leaves the only other option, Crouch was followed here, by someone who was hiding in the bushes out of sight. They then attacked Krum and kidnapped Crouch, once Harry had gone back inside".

"But that option also makes no sense. Why wait for Harry to leave? Why not Stun him too?" Questioned Sara.
"I don't know. We should just be glad that they didn't hurt Harry as well" replied Sirius.
"Yes. Do you think this mystery person put Harry's name in the Goblet of Fire?"
"More than likely"
"Which rules out Karkaroff, as wouldn't Stun his own student"
"Hmm. Despite his Death Eater connections, Karkaroff is seeming less like the person after Harry, by the minute. But that doesn't mean that he isn't a threat to Harry, as I expect he would still do anything, to make sure that his school wins the tournament"
"That is true. We should be cautious, of all ex Death Eaters... Including Snape. You bent the truth, when talking to the kids the other day. We both know that he used to be a Death Eater. We came across him multiple times, on many missions".

"He was always behind a mask, so it's impossible to tell if it was him, or someone else with bad hair" admitted Sirius.
"I saw him once, with his mask off. The night you all came to rescue me, when I was kidnapped by Death Eaters. I turned into a dragon and torched the place. On the way out I saw him on the floor, without his mask, and without his wand. I felt bad for him, so I saved his life" revealed Sara.
"That's why you said that he owed you, back in the Shrieking Shack"
"Yeah"
"Well that confirms that he was a Death Eater. Which makes it even stranger that Dumbledore would hire him"
"Dumbledore is all about second chances, you know that. Snape must have claimed to have reformed, or whatever, to make the Headmaster trust him"
"And do you believe that the greasy haired git has changed?"
"I don't know. He was willing to hand us over the Dementors, which isn't very nice, but that could just be because he hates us... Honestly, I don't think he's with Voldemort any more, but that doesn't mean that he's a good person. He's still a douchebag".

"Does that mean that you don't think Snape is a threat to Harry? He did say in his letter, that Snape held him back, meaning that they didn't return to Krum for quite some time. Could that have been intentional?" Quizzed Sirius.
"I don't think so. I expect it was just Snape, being Snape. And he doesn't like Harry any more than he likes us" reminded Sara.
"Even if Snape is not a Death Eater, Harry's life is still in danger, and I'm worried what the third task will hold for him".
Sirius suddenly moved to where his bag was on the floor, and fetched a quill, ink, and some fresh parchment, before beginning to write his reply to Harry.
"Try not to sound too angry" warned Sara.
"I'm livid right now Sara, and Harry needs to know that we are not happy with him. If we don't remind him how serious the situation is, he will keep taking risks" replied Sirius.

Sara approached Sirius, and began to read what he had written so far.
"It sounds too scary. You should tone it down a bit. He's only 14 remember" commented Sara.
"He should be scared. His life is on the line. I need to warn him how dangerous this situation is. I'm also going to encourage him to learn as many spells and hexes as he can, before the third task" admitted Sirius.
"But you don't want to make him too nervous that he won't even leave his room-"
"Just let me write my letter. If you disagree with what I've written, then write your own bloody letter" snapped Sirius.

Sara raised her hands and moved to the opposite side of the cave, to pick off the last pieces of meat from the rat bones she had started eating earlier.
When they had first gone on the run, the year before, she had refused to eat rats. But as her and Sirius began to slowly starve to death, she realised that she didn't have much choice.
However, there's only so long a human can survive on rats, and the lack of food, was making both of them miserable and very irritable.
