Brace yourself for this long chapter!!

It surprised you that you enjoyed the car ride with Avilio. Unlike Frate and Nero, he keeps quiet and only speaks when you do. You appreciated the fact that he wasn't as clingy as the Vanetti brothers.

In the past, Nero would try to crack up jokes while Frate would be leaning against you, trapping you between the two boys. They always make you sit in the middle, knowing they would be fighting over who would sit next to you. Although you wanted to sit by the window, it was impossible to have a peaceful drive.

"We're almost there," You muttered, your chin rested on your hand as you stared outside the window.

Avilio glances at you, "You live fairly close to the Vanetti's mansion."

"Our outskirt houses are neighbouring next to each other," You explained. "I never had a break from them."

You remembered watching the circus acts and theatre shows with both of them on either side of you. When you were a child, the Vanetti brothers were the only friends you really had. Although Fio enjoyed playing house and other games with you, it was both boys that stole you away most of the time.

Not really understanding, you let their unusual behaviour slide from your mind. You thought it was normal to see them every day and have them follow you around. You grew up thinking that that's how friends are supposed to treat each other.

Years went by and those arms you rubbed against suddenly grew larger and stronger. Right before your eyes, you saw the boys turn into men. It was always lingering in your mind that their feelings for you weren't so innocent as you thought.

Nero and Frate were the ones you experienced most of your firsts with. First loose tooth, the first day of homeschooling, first time driving, first time drinking alcohol. The list goes on and those brothers were there during all of those events.

However, what was different was your first kiss, which you expected it to be one of the Vanetti brothers. However, you ended kissing a random boy on accident. Oh, you were scolded for that. It happened when you were eight or nine, you couldn't really remember but it didn't really bother you.

"I see," Avilio's voice had a hint of amusement. "I suppose you had plenty of fun with them."

"They rarely let me out of their sight," You continued. "Anywhere I wanted to go, they always had to go with me..."

"Why didn't you keep your plans private?"

"My parents would speak to their father and arrange our play dates," You grumbled at the memories.

"You didn't enjoy spending time with them?" He asks.

"I did!" You exclaimed. "It's just that... They never gave me the chance to speak to anyone else my age."

You saw your driver look at the rearview mirror with a grin on his old face. "This is the first time the young lady has spoken to a man other than the Vanetti brothers-"

Your cheeks flushed a bright pink, "That's not true!"

"Is that why they were so surprised when they saw me?"

"It's not true!" You turned your face away, your hands clenching the end of your dress. "They saw me with other men before!"

Avilio almost rolls his eyes, "So, I wasn't the first?"

"My butler was the first!" You whipped your head towards him and flashed him an embarrassed grin. "You're the second man I've spoken to on my own free will..."

"I understand," Avilio pauses. "What a sad life you have."

Before you could slap him in the face, the car slows into a full stop. Avilio already had his arms up in defence when he glanced out the window, his amber eyes widen slightly.
