Quick question: Are you guys okay with smut being in the book owo? It's for the plot I swear!
As you were searching through Nero's desk, Avilio stared at a picture with stoic eyes, but it seemed like he was studying the children inside. The picture frame was propped up on the bedside table, facing towards the bed.
Four children posed together right in front of a circus tent, a young girl stood in the middle while the three boys surrounded her. Bright smiles were spread across all their faces, it seemed like a normal photo.
"That's me," You whispered, Avilio glances behind him and you were on your tippy-toes looking over his shoulder. "A clown wanted to take a picture of us."
"When was this taken?" Avilio asked, looking back towards the photo.
"In 1917 if I remember correctly," You let out a small smile and chuckled a bit. "I'm taller than Frate in this."
"Eleven years ago," Avilio shuts his eyes. "Did your family happen to attend a church near there?"
"Why does it matter to you?" You muttered. "Was it not your idea to search through Nero's room?"
Avilio lets out a sigh, "Have you found anything yet?"
"I did," You pursed your lips. "However, it's on top of the bookshelf."
Avilio glances up, he manages to capture a glimpse of a box that was overflowing with papers.
You pulled over Nero's chair and took off your heels. Pushing your hair behind your ears, you glanced up at the box you were planning on getting.
"I'll lift you up." Avilio was about to grab onto your waist until you slapped his hand away.
"I can do it myself," You stated.
Avilio watches you stand on top of the chair and step onto the desk. "Are you still upset with me?"
"Why would I be upset?" You replied with a sarcastic smile. "All you did was give me a heart attack and almost made me strip you...!"
Avilio rolls his eyes, "You told me to do whatever I can to get information."
You began reaching for the box, "I never said to fake heat hyperthermia!"
He blinks, "Wh-"
"How embarrassing," You scoffed, grabbing onto the cardboard box. "You really caused a scene out there for all the rich families."
Avilio pinches the bridge of his nose out of annoyance, "Alright, I'm sorry for making you worry."
"You're lucky I'm a forgiving person!" You leaned down and handed Avilio the box. "To most people..."
"I know," Avilio places the cardboard box on the floor before taking your hands. "Now come down before you break something."
You carefully stepped down onto the chair and the male helps you get to the wooden floor. Your eyes landed on the box on the floor and you bent down to open it.
Inside were stacks of paper, which you were disappointed at first because you hoped it would be something more interesting. You pulled out a heavy stack of paper and plopped it on the desk.
Your eyes read over the typed out text and Avilio looms over your shoulder with curiosity. Your breath hitches and you ran your finger along the paper.
It seemed like your heart was sinking, Avilio's eyebrows furrowed with bewilderment.
"A marriage contract?" You whispered in confusion. "The places required to be signed are empty... Created in 1917... No expiration date..."
