Seven years later....
For the next few years, Jaeyeon had helped Hyunjin get settled back into the society even without family or name; he slowly rebuilt his identity. They became much closer as friends as for those seven years, they've been seeing each other every day.
"After all this time, you're finally moving out of my house?" Jaeyeon eyed the man packing up the brown boxes. Her eyes taking in his stature in its entirety, from the way his hair bounced on his head to the beads of sweat formulating near his hairline and all the way down to how his butt looked when he squatted to pick up each box.
"Yeah, you're gonna miss me. Aren't you?" He chuckled, launching unto the couch beside the woman. He poked the soon-to-be mother's stomach, before looking up to her from his view below. His eyes fluttered from her lips and found their way to her eyes, hoping she didn't notice his minor slip-up.
"If I was going to miss you, do you think I would force you to leave?" She deadpanned, smiling at the cute man. She smiled at how his eyes sparkled as he traced his fingers over her baby bumb, how he spoke so softly to the life in her stomach. Her heart ached. It would be their last conversation as roommates. She tangled her fingers in his soft hair.
"You're not forcing me, I offered. We could all live happily ever after together if we just got married, or even started dating." Hyunjin proposed the idea to deaf ears for the nth time. "Look at Felix and Changbin. Why can't we do the same?"
"Maybe because we both aren't interested in each other." She smacked the playful Hyunjin in his head.
He rose from how he was lying on the couch. "Well maybe if you hadn't gone off and gotten pregnant for Woojin, I would have some interest in you." He stuck his tongue out immaturely, then upon receiving a death glare from Jaeyeon; he zapped his tongue back into his mouth faster than the speed of light. "Okay, okay. I'll stop playing around." He relented, moving towards his packing again.
There was silence between the two, but the television was on, erasing any chance of an awkward tension that could have risen from the direction of the conversation. But, Hyunjin wasn't satisfied. There's things he wanted to know.
"But, sistren, it's been six months. Don't you think it's time you told me how it even happened. You coming home one day and telling me you're pregnant doesn't really cover it." He whined, plopping down on the ground.
"Fine." She turned down the television's volume, rising from the couch in an awkward pregnancy arch. "We saw each other and the club and it just happened." She shrugged, trying to walk away from the conversation.
"Me and you were to have that fairytale ending." Hyunjin whined, pouting out his bottom lip and making sad eyes at the woman. Jaeyeon hurt ached again, he was cute.
"Either way, it's not a fairytale ending, the only people that have a fairytale ending is Felix and Changbin. And by the way, Felix still doesn't want too invite you to the wedding. He says you put me in danger to many times." Jaeyeon mocked Hyunjin. But, she quickly reminded herself of the actual conversation. "We just hooked up, that's all. I didn't remember I just finished my period. We were just too happy to see each other after so long. It sucks having your best friend move away for something as important as achool."
Hyunjin took in her entire response before coming to the conclusion that, "Maybe moving away will be good for me after all? I wonder how happy you'll be to see me again."
"Maybe so..." She trailed off, not wanting to admit to herself that he might as well be right. She left the living room, leaving Hyunjin to continue packing in silence. Soon enough, he got fed up and followed her to the kitchen.
"So, does this mean you will keep in touch will him?" He pouted.
"Why are you so annoying?" The agitated woman groaned. "What? Are you jealous?" She paused, then continued because she didn't want him to answer that. "Of course, this is not my baby alone. And even if I wasn't pregnant, I would still want to. I miss him."
Hyunjin rolled his eyes. "Maybe, I'm a little jealous." He placed his index and thumb fingers close together, demonstrating his feelings. He dropped his head cutely.
Jaeyeon yanked his hand that he held in the air, bringing his body closer to hers. She cupped his cheeks endearingly, staring him deep in the eyes before locking her lips in his. It was slow surprise kiss. And, it was over before Hyunjin could even savour it.
"Will that make you to stop now?" Jaeyeon asked, feeling accomplished.
"No, now I just want you to kiss me more." He smirked. His face was smug before bringing their lips together one more time.
